The service and cleaning staff were by far some of the best I've ever experienced in my 53 years! If you are going to Porto, look no more, for this is THE hotel you should stay at! Perfect, central location - just minutes from the main bridge and the large outdoor market (which was my personal favorite).

The Mercure is an excellent hotel in the heart of Porto historical district. It's walking distance to everything to-do in Porto. The rooms are spacious, and very comfortable. The staff is amazing, extremely helpful and go out of their way to make sure you're happy. We're English speaking and so is the staff. I noticed the staff speaks multiple languages in order to accommodate the foreign travelers. We highly recommend this hotel.

The staff were super friendly and always happy to help. We really enjoyed our stay here. The pool isn't huge but lovely for a cooling off dip at the end of a busy day sight seeing. It's really central and an easy walk down to the station and the river front.

Lovely hotel in a good central location, lovely garden room in the basement, cleaned regularly with replacement towels. Good pool area for sitting on a hot afternoon. The only disappointment we had was the very poor bar service. Ordered drinks, barman carried on conversation with the kitchen staff, ignoring our order, also offered to serve another guest who suggested he completed out order first! Also since when does an Aperol Spritz have tap water in it?

A must stay hotel

Fantastic stay here, rooms very comfortable and spacious. Having a balcony and a pool right in the heart of Porto is rare, Hotel right in the heart and close by to everything. Staff were friendly and helpful, especially reception. Will definitely return here again.
