The front desk staff are welcoming and helpful. When you go to the dining area Olivia was the best waitress and host. The food was decent. The issue is the RIU is old and needs maintenance. The sheets were stained (they were clean), the room interior is deteriorating and bugs are starting to be an issue (like roaches). The bars still keep you entertained and of course you have fun. It just needs maintenance

The room I pay for was not available, I had to go to a different hotel, I came back and the room they gave me had no working ac, had roaches and smell really bad. This is not acceptable at all as this was not free nor was cheap.

My room specifically just lots of amenities didn’t work. The phone outlet was ripped from the cord so an open wire was exposed. The iron didn’t work, along with the A/C, toilet and water would switch from hot and cold.

There was a bad smell around the hotel inside and outside. The food was ok, and there were some bugs inside the buildings. It was extremely hot and humid inside most bathrooms and elevators. This hotel is good for partying and having fun with friends, not so good for family vacations and relaxation.

First time here, Rio was an okay resort if you want to party. Food was not the greatest. Went to eat multiple times and kept picking up dirty dishes or forks. Had a basic room with 2 beds.

Everything is good about this property. Food is good, good 🍸 drinks everywhere you pass by. There are a lot to say about this place. The only problem is the property needs to be disinfected because it smells bad and they need to spray for the mosquito.

This hotel is in really bad condition. It is a party resort for sure and probably fine for a big group of 18 year olds. The food is decent for an all inclusive but not great. They use key cards instead of your wristbands to get into the rooms so you have to bring your card everywhere and they charge if you lose it. We had a total of 13 rooms and almost all of them had problems. Some toliets didn't work, some AC didn't work, some showers didn't work. The rooms were dirty, Sheets and furniture were stained. One of our rooms even had huge worms crawling in the bathrooms. Overall the resort was pretty trashy.

The rooms at this hotel are very poorly maintained. They smell bad, and the bathroom was moldy. The outside was clean and well-maintained. There were lots of palm trees. The food at the buffets was average. I thought the service was quite good. The music and the show weren't as good. We expected more traditional Dominican music, and everything was really Americanized. The beach was clean. In conclusion, we wouldn't return.
