Updated room had environmental restrictions on AC and water pressure in the bathroom. AC in room could only be turned down to 65. It would turn off if no one was occupying the room. This made it so that the room was hot when we returned from our outings. The light in the bathroom turned on automatically. This made it inconvenient to use the restroom in the night, as the light came on when entering the room. The doors are VERY heavy and surrounding "neighbors" were very loud because they let the doors slam behind them instead of closing the door lightly. There was also no fan in the bathroom. Give glass cups for coffee, please. Paper cups are a down grade for the price of the room. The lock on our door malfunctioned 2 days in a row due to a battery in the lock. The first day, the battery was replaced. The 2nd day the battery had to be reseated because it wasn't installed correctly the first day. Very inconvenient to have to call for Security to fix the lock when returning to our room. No microwave, but we were able to request one from house keeping. Social Hour was a nice treat, but very limited for food and drinks. We only attended one of the 9 days we were there. Not impressed the first time. We did not return. Otherwise, beautiful view, nice and comfortable bedding and robes. Bartenders in the bar area were cool and helpful. Lots of stuff to do and walk to in the area.

Property is nice. Only thing I didn’t like at all was that we did not receive room keys for our room and needed a manager to escort all guests to their rooms and let them in, and check in was at 3pm but I did not receive my room (again with no room keys) until 8pm. 5 hours of waiting.

It was my first time there and I enjoyed every second of it. It was a getaway vacation from home and I loved how the staff was so friendly, they have valet for $60 per night. A little pricy but i’m sure would be the same anywhere else if it was a luxurious hotel. I will add that the kids who work at the valet can be a bit nicer and mature. I feel like it’s a bunch of teens who work there and don’t know manners. There was one guy who was very nice and helpful I wish I caught his name but I will remember a face next time I stay. I didn’t get to enjoy the pool and my free app/2 drinks as we wanted to explore more of SD but I love how that was a perk. The hotel room was clean, so was the bathroom and the sheets on the bed 100/100 as it should but sometimes hotels don’t keep it clean. It was in the middle of everything which would be walking distance to restaurants.

4th of July Weekend

My husband and like Westin Hotels. The service was great especially at the bar area. Very friendly. There’s a couple of staff at the reception area tho that aren’t friendly. I’m a retired nurse and I have worked with patients and families. No matter what is happening internally, you just have to put your best effort to smile and look like you’re there to help the clients or guests on this situation. There were questions that I had and would leave and go back again because I forgot one question and like I said, there’s a couple of staff that I just had the vibe that they weren’t happy to give more informations like I was really bothering them. And, there was no one in line. Then I requested that I wanted my room to be cleaned or at least wipe down the vanity and re-stock the glasses, towels and throw the garbage. We got back from a long day of discovering the wonderful city of San Diego and the room was not cleaned. No fresh towels. I asked the front desk if someone can clean it while we’re out to dinner and the gentleman said “of course! The housekeeping are here during the day and night as well.” We got back from dinner, and no one had cleaned or even left clean towels! That was just my main beef about the my experience this time. Otherwise, we will still go back next year and I hope the staff will be better with their customer service.
