The room was very comfortable, the staff was friendly and went above whenever possible, the rooftop bar is beautiful and the gym has one of the nicest I have ever been in.

In addition to the hotel being in an unsafe area. The parking was inconvenient, parking valet cost $100/night and the closest parking was a 10 minute walk which ran $30/night (good deal, I grew up in LA). The hotel itself was flooded with transients (unhoused or whatever y’all are calling them these days) throughout the perimeter. At one point, I looked out my window and saw San Francisco PD Vice and Norco unit setting up for a sting (God bless SFPD). The AC did not work as soon as I entered my room, I put in a request for the AC to be addressed. I waited several hours and had no one response to the room. I finally phoned the front desk. They stated, I spoke with artificial intelligence and they did not receive the request. They did not know that I had an issue with the AC in my room. In addition, it was past 5 PM. Therefore, they did not have maintenance personnel to address the HVAC issue. The only positive, was I got my room comped. I ended up staying at the W SF. Anyone looking for a good hotel in San Francisco please consider the W San Francisco.

The property was beautiful and the service was great, but the area was terrible and really unsafe. One day, we heard a loud noise and then saw someone lying on the ground, and we thought they had been shot, and cops and an ambulance followed it, so I'm pretty sure that's what happened. We could not walk around the area AT ALL because we felt so unsafe. We even waited for the Uber to be outside because of how bad it was, worse at night, but still bad during the day.

Arrived early and my room wasnt ready but they helped get me checked in and texted me when it was ready. The staff was super friendly and they provided a glass of champagne while i sat around, that was nice. My rooms ac wasnt working but the room never got too hot or cold so i didnt complain, besides that the room was good and the bed was comfortable. I got some room credit but didnt use much of it due to the prices at the minibar, but honestly ive seen higher prices elsewhere. Parking is expensive though, if you’re driving be aware.

Front desk staff failed us

The air conditioner was not working, we asked multiple times to change rooms. They told us three times. There was no availability due to the hotel being fully booked. At that point I booked another room at another hotel, and then they came to me as we were leaving the hotel, “ we have another room for you”. This was after three hours of pleading for another room and the temperature being 78 and rising. The front desk lied to us about not having another room available.

Inside the property, we really loved it. Great room, lovely food in the restaurant, brilliant gym facilities. Outside, however, it was awful. It is very much surrounded by areas of homelessness and I wouldn’t recommend going anywhere by foot from the hotel, Uber/Lyft only. I felt really unsafe when going through these areas.
