It's an old hotel but that's part of it's charm. I liked that there was a restaurant, bar and pub on site. it was nice to have options. The pool/hot tub were nice though it looked like they hadn't been cleaned. Lots of leaves in the water. I did think the room had an older musty smell and the bathroom was small and oddly designed. As someone who wears contact I was disgusted that the mirror was over the toilet, poorly planned.

In need of some maintenance

Service was excellent, and the facility common areas are well-maintained and very clean. My room in the original building was clean, however it needs some updating and general maintenance. The exterior of the building is also in need to some genera maintenance. It's beginning to show its age since the last renovation. The value of the room was excellent.

100 year atmosphere with two excellent bars. Nice pool, although it could have used a cleaning. Room, beds & pillows OK but not up to the hotel's class. No hair dryer, horrible, cheap in room coffee. Would rather better room amenities than the low price for such a lovely old hotel.

It is truly a grand old hotel, with lovely windows and woodwork. The owners are trying to keep its original flavor, but it is getting a little worn around the edges. If you’re on the Broadway side, the traffic sounds are loud.

We unfortunately were in a room that was overlooking the working areas. And seemed to be on top of a walk-in or air conditioning unit. Because the room had a subtle shake or rumble going on the entire time. And they have these classic, old-timey doors that don’t lock completely. So they rattled all night. The sound made it a little hard to sleep. It’s a very cool, classic place and we enjoyed the history. But hopefully some type of updating can honor the history with making it also feel inviting. Plus the unexpected daily $50 deposit kind was kind of irritating. Nice to get it back. Would have like that included in the information anywhere other than upon check-in.

Everyone was super friendly. I loved the historic old timer feel in there! Loved the live music and many cozy fireplaces with chairs! That’s a plus! Thank you.
