Great location, cool retro look. Room had strong bleach smell that took hours to dissipate broken toilet seat, and loud fan in bathroom you could not turn off. Also no working TV and $25 parking surprise.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was very clean but the TV reception was a little wonky. But didn't really care because was not there to watch TV. The greatest issue was with the water pressure in the shower...or the lack thereof.

Worst experience ever. We got a room, bathroom light completely ripped out of wall. Phones didn’t work to call front desk. Got moved to a new room, bathroom door didn’t work/close properly, no insulation around outside door so cold wind blowing in all night, heater would kick in intermittently… the phone didn’t work either to call so when I called and tried to explain situation was shut up by clerk saying “can I get a word in?! The phones don’t work!!” I was disappointed from the get go, nothing nice to say about this experience.

Room was clean and perfect. The housekeeping ladies are kind and helpful. The woman working the front, I think her name was Crystal, she was not so kind. The hotels.com website for the hotel was misleading. The hotel is NOT .7 miles from Forsyth Park. There was not breakfast. Only donuts and coffee. Plus we had to pay $25 to park in which was not mentioned on the website

The room was clean and large! My favorite part of the stay was the reception area and the staff! I highly recommend this hotel for it's accommodating welcome. It's not just for retro lovers, it is close to all modes of public transportation. It is within walking distance to the Riverfront, great for the going's on at the enMarket arena. The city provides a bus service from near the civic auditorium to the arena for only $5 round trip (Jan 2026). The donuts at the reception area are included in your room rate and are the best donuts that I have EVER had! Wren at the reception counter is a GEM, so kind and helpful! There is another hotel that is called the Thunderbird Inn so make sure you get this one!!!!!

We loved the retro vibe. The room was nice, tidy, and very clean. Bed and pillows were comfy. There were a few snags that need fixing, such as the toilet paper holder and the shower liner not covering the back side area and allowed water to rush out.

What a gem in Savannah! Retro, kitschy, quirky and cool. The donuts were amazing, the staff super kind and helpful, and the room warm and comfortable. We will be staying at Thunderbird again!
