Great location. Short walk from Bencoolen street MRT and several others nearby. Concierge very helpful. However on arrival female receptionist repeatedly and loudly asked myself and my same sex partner if we required separate beds. I answered that we did not require separate beds (we had booked a double room NOT a twin room) but she then repeated the question- I began to think she had a problem with our answer. Not a pleasant experience on arrival! My advice to her is not to make assumptions and give people what they book!! We were paying for a service after all!! All the other staff we encountered on reception during our stay for 3 nights were friendly and helpful so it was a shame she was the first staff member we met as this left us with a very poor impression. The gym and pool were ok - not very modern but fit for purpose. This hotel lets itself down on a lack of attention to detail in the standard room - we ordered a standard Queen. Grubby carpets, marks on walls, skirting boards and furniture. The bathroom was adequate with some decent water pressure in the shower. We booked it because it was one of the cheapest we could find and it was very near MRTs near the tourist hotspots. So, if things like grubbiness don’t bother you I’m sure you’ll like it.
