St Louis itself is really nice and the hotel was pretty…..but we found a lot of human hair in our bed. It was obvious someone had slept in it, the sheets weren’t changed. It was like they just pulled the corners and made sure it looked presentable.

I would give this place a 5 star but three were a few things that I was disappointed in- parking is not the greatest but since it is free its hard to complain too much. The other was the construction, It made it pretty hard to unload and get out of the parking lot. Once that is done I am sure it will be much easier. The breakfast was ok- the coffee was great- service was sad. He obviously didn't want to be there. It was confusing as it appeared that the only items available were pastries but if you stuck with the changing menu you saw a few things that were not all sweets. As a diabetic this was hard to find something that was healthy for me to eat.

Great property

When we pulled in the sign said “Hotel Indigo”. This was disconcerting since I had made reservations at a Holiday Inn Express. I also stayed at the same property in April when it was a Holiday Inn Express. It’s still an IHG property.. We appreciate the history of this hotel and it’s nice that the renovations celebrate this.. it’s on the National Register of Historic Places as the first motel on Route 66 in St Louis.

Construction outside the property, but once you get inside, everything is very nice. Small, but modern lobby with small shop area for snacks and convenience items. The staff was very friendly. Really nice coffee shop, pizzeria, and cafe/sandwich shop attached. Our room was very nice and clean, with a large, modern bathroom. It was pet friendly, and our dog was comfortable there. We enjoyed our balcony. The smoking policy was a little confusing. When booking online, some rooms were designated as non-smoking, but signs all over the property warned that the entire facility was non-smoking. We don't smoke, but we vape, and we were unsure if vaping was even allowed on our outside balcony. That was not a major concern, and we were very satisfied overall. We would 100% stay again and might even request the same room. Very reasonably priced as well.

Location is great!

As with most real estate…location, location, location of the hotel is great. Was confusing to find though because signage was Hotel Indigo, but we booked and GPS’d Holiday Inn Express. Bistro side is undergoing renovation which we were informed of. It did not interfere with service. Breakfast by voucher was quite lacking. The coffee cafe had only coffees, teas, sweet rolls and heat and served quiches. The order/delivery process was very slow, even though 3 staffers working. 20 minutes to get a cappuccino, a weak, watery, un chocolate-y hot chocolate, and two sweet rolls. No juices but options for purchase with other snacks/sundry items at desk. So the complimentary breakfast was a pastry, a coffee/tea beverage, juice at my cost. The hotel area has been renovated and is clean, light, and modern. Our room was Euro style. Only a desk chair, not comfy one, very compact space. The bathroom lacked any kind of shelf/counter space. A pedestal sink had no space for any toiletries. Shower was great!! On sight parking for $15 per night. Bed comfortable and efficient internet.

This will be our #1 choice for return trips. Hotel was going through a change over process to Hotel Indigo. Expedia needs to update the name to Hotel Indigo as it was very confusing trying to find Holiday Inn where there wasn’t one. But we called the front desk and they were very friendly and helped us get where we needed to be. They are doing construction by the garage and the parking space at the hotel was very limited but there is a garage across the street that the hotel will validate. We had a hiccup with our room. Expedia has the room we booked listed as a “separate bedroom” but the hotel doesn’t have those unless you book a “suite”. But the manager Dan Molina was very accommodating and gave us a discount on our room for the confusion. Very cool guy. Now on top of getting a sweet discount the room itself was magnificent. The shower was *chefs kiss*. Waterfall shower head, glorious pressure, and a removable shower head. Bench inside. It was great after a very long hot day at Six Flags. The bed was lovely, great A/C. Very clean. You must stay here!

The shower floor was filthy, so was the bathroom floor. I paid extra fo a balcony and the spider webs, debris piled up all over. I would expect maintenance could at least sweep it up occasionally!

This property has changed ownership from Holiday Inn to IHG/Indigo. No notification was given which also impacted dining/breakfast services provided. It wasn’t the service that was marketed at time of booking 3 weeks prior. I wouldn’t have booked with this location if it wasn’t marketing breakfast option. The cost of stay wasn’t worth services & facility costs.
Room size was expected and functional.
Couldn’t fully open curtains there was outdoor seating outside of window that clearly visible into room from outside.
