The grounds are beautiful and the staff were friendly and check in and out. The private balcony was also beautiful, although another guest’s room has windows into the deck, so it is not very private for you on the deck or the other room’s guests. That’s unfortunately the only nice things I can say. Staying at the King Mansion is described as “luxury” and it falls entirely short. It is adjacent to the courtyard that plays loud music until 11 PM and there is a restaurant on the first floor and not well sound-proofed rooms. The room itself also felt very old and not just in a quaint, antique way, but in a way that was extremely run down. There was a missing floorboard in the room with a rusty nail sticking out of the floor, all of the doors in the room had difficulty closing with semi-functioning doorknobs and the showers is very dated. Additionally, the AC was broken. For the luxurious experience and quality promised, it falls dramatically short of expectations.

The grounds and buildings were a feast for the eyes but the convenience, service and amenities were barely adequate. Had to ask for ice at front desk and had a difficult time getting more coffee for the Keurig.

Decided to stay here while on business in NYC and found it to be a lovely retreat from the business of the City. I really enjoyed walking around the campus looking at birds, the beautifully decorated historic buildings, paintings and learning some new facts about the history of the property and NY. I stayed in a suite which was a nice size and modern, thought the room was very clean and bathroom was shining. Kuerig is available and they offer 2 pods of decaf and 2 pods of caff coffee. I used the gym often and the equipment seemed brand new and offered lovely views of the river. The best part about staying here though is the restaurant Goosefeather. Higher on the pricing side but thought it was worth every penny, look forward to visiting again in the future. The car ride to Irvington station was 5 minutes, successfully parked in the lot for a very reasonable price and it was just under an hour to Grand Central station. One of the more lovely commutes taking in scenes along the Hudson.

I was a guest at the Tarrytown House Estate on Saturday 02/22/25. Our experience at the Estate in Kings Mansion Room 392 could’ve been much better. It was very difficult for us to get the Hot Water to turn on…had to wait about 15 mins for it to come on at a time. We also on had just “One”wash cloth instead of Two wash cloths very frustrating. I have stayed here before & had a much better experience. Goosefeathers Restaurant was amazing..! Thanks

We had a great stay. I do agree with past reviews that more attention can be paid to details of cleanliness. However, the beds and towels and shower were very clean, which was most important to me. The property is great and while we didn’t eat in the restaurant, it was convenient to know we could still have a great dining experience without leaving. The grounds were a great plus and I’m sure it’s better in warmer months. The staff provided great service as well, would visit again.

We found hair on the floor, There was no hot water, lights are broken, and they charged $100 for my ESA dog after the allowed it for free 6 months ago.I also read guests found used condoms and a hypo needle in their room. HORRIBLE PLACE!
