Fantastic gem accommodations in Avalon

Got an upgrade and really enjoyed the suite. All rooms have a great view and easy walking access to everything, though the street's incline may deter older and less fit individuals. Super easy access to the chimes tower and even better views than the hotel. Staff was wonderful. Uploaded image was from our balcony. Will stay here again!

Staff was wonderful, property Very out dated, view was nice and i guess thats what I payed for, notoces some mold on the bathroom shower. Charge for use of facilities when there ia nothing to use and would get in the jacuzzi. It was for sure clean bit u will have to request house keeping if needed. We did have a good time.

I was disappointed with my room. The paint was peeling off the walls, the electric socket in bathroom solid not work so I could not do my hair. window was cracked , light switch was broken, tv remote was missing back closure so m the batteries kept falling out. I paid for an ocean view and I did not get much of that. Way too expensive for qualit, I woul not stay here agsin

Only 1 towel in our room when they knew 2 people were staying, no decaf coffee. Tried to call on this and no answer at front desk. Very old and so outdated. Would not recommend. Pay more and stay at a nicer place. Also a cracked glass window that was taped up. Staff and view nice but place not nice.

We had a okay stay The phones don't work, so that threw me off and when we called on our mobile devices no one would pick up The island is beautiful The hotel is close enough to bars that was nice 🙂 Heater blew cold but other than not being able to use the jaquzi tub since there wasn't a stopper it was nice

We had reserved two rooms. One room had a dirty diaper in the middle of the floor. Room hadn't been cleaned. Second room had a downstairs neighbor playing music so loud our room was shaking. Hotel office closed at 6pm and they didn't answer the after hours phone number. No one on-site or available by phone/text to help. It's been 3 days and hotel still hasn't returned my calls or emails to make it right. STAY AWAY. I have pics and videos to prove this.

The place is very old. Rooms were musty. There is plenty of room. However bathrooms, kitchen, flooring all seemed old and dated and not very clean.

The staff was the only pleasant aspect. The property is old; the heater and lamp did not work. You could feel the wires in the bed, and the carpet was ripped.

Fun stay. To all the commenters about the age of the place, get over it. Catalina is old. Most of these buildings are close to 100 years old. Dont be cheap, get a suite. With a harbor view. You wont be disappointed. So what if its old…thats its charm. As well as any place in this town. Everyone was nice and friendly. Was able to take my e-bike up the elevator and into my room so it would be safe for the nights. Relax and enjoy your leisure time.

Pictures in the website looked way different. Everything is outdated. Smelly, the stove didn’t even have a rack to cook stuff in. When we asked the front desk she said that she couldn’t do anything about. Plus the phone didn’t have service called from my phone and front desk still didn’t answer. I would not stay there again!

Very cute little spot. Can comfortably fit 3 people (2 bed, 1 couch). From the Catalina express terminal, it’s about a 7-8 minute walk, then 3-4 minute walk to the main town. Very close to everything.
