Room was nice, but the rest of hotel is beat up

The girl at the front desk was nice when I checked in. Unfortunately, the hotel lobby is not very nice. It very 'weathered'. There is a fridge with a few sodas for sale (a lot of hotels do these 'kiosk areas now, but this one had little to no selection). There were people walking barefoot through the lobby. Not that it's illegal to do so, but it speaks to the caliber of the clientele. The hall ways, doors to rooms and elevator are very beat up. I was dreading it after a very long day, but fortunately my room was fine. Basic, but I just needed to sleep before getting on the road again the next day.

Clean exterior, friendly and helpful front desk. That's where things went downhill. Hallways have extensive drywall damage in just the short walk from the lobby to elevator, and from our elevator to our room. Room was mostly clean except for the tobacco smoke smell, bathroom soap already removed from the box as if reused from the previous guest (sitting on top of the open box), missing soap/shampoo to bathe with, and a dead fly stuck behind the bathroom mirror, clearly visible standing in the middle of the bathroom. Place just needs a bit of a makeover.

The staff were friendly and the beds were clean & well made but the property was outdated, almost run-down and there was a chemical odor in the elevators that reminded me of hair perm solution. Bathroom floor also felt sticky.

Upon arrival the area around the hotel Leaves much to be desired. The elevator smelled terrible and had to take the stairs. Carpets are stained in hallway and stairwell. Noisy. You can drown out highway noise but a dog barking excessively. Room next door blaring music 6:30 pm on. Breakfast area very crowded not much room to get to food. I wouldn’t stay here again.

We were there for one night. This is the second year we stayed here and it has gone downhill. The hotel had a very bad smell that started in elevator then into the hallway on 4th floor. We had another party staying there and they said 2nd floor smelt just as bad. Only one elevator working. The elevator had some kind of service/emergency button that flashed at ground level. An employee walked by when we saw it and his comment was, that keeps doing that and we let the owner know but its not fixed yet. Yeah we felt great taking it to the 4th floor. Our room was ok but there were splatter drips down the wall around the toilet. Hair on the floor. Disappointed and will not be staying there again.

Rethink staying here!

We’ve stayed at this hotel before. 4 or 5 years ago it was well kept. This stay was disgusting. Our 1st room had a broken door handle to the bathroom. The entire room looked like it had not been cleaned. Most likely just pulled the sheets up and remade the beds after the last people stayed in that room. There was hair on the sheets, red stains on the wall near the desk. Splatter marks were all over the back of the door. The nightstand had crumbs all over it and there was food left in the fridge. My daughter didn’t feel like she could sleep in the room. She and I both were grossed out. My daughter freaked out because she saw a bug crawling on the edge at the foot of the bed. Upon looking …. I’m not sure if it was a carpet beetle (based on google lens or if it was a bed bug). I called the front desk and they called management. In less than a couple of minutes the front desk called back and said we could come down to get new keys to a room a few doors down. We did… After getting into the second room, it looked cleaner, we checked the beds, looked everywhere. We did see another one of those bugs on the wall near the sitting bench in the 2nd room. We decided to stay but were going to sleep on top of the sheets with our own blankets. We would have left but all hotels were sold out due to state championships in the area. The elevator smelled like urine. Only 1 elevator worked. Cleaning ladies came up to “clean” 1st room, all they did was remove food from fridge. No cleaning cart.
