The Essex Resort & Spa offers 120 accommodations with iPod docking stations and a safe. Each accommodation is individually furnished and decorated. Pillowtop beds feature premium bedding. 42-inch flat-screen televisions come with premium cable channels. Bathrooms include bathrobes, complimentary toiletries and hairdryers.

We loved our stay. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The amenities are great, especially the outdoor pool. The whole outdoor setting is beautiful. It's very convenient to be able to eat on site and bonus the pet goats. This will likely become our go to spot whenever we are in Vermont.

The property and gardens are absolutely beautiful — the outdoor spaces are truly stunning. However, the interior of the hotel felt outdated and poorly maintained. The contrast between the charming exterior and the tired indoor spaces was disappointing. Cost was reasonable but important to leave a review hoping hotel could be updated / renewed.

Relaxing stay post friend wedding

Wife and I came for a wedding and stayed here after for a few days in Vermont. The Essex Resort was a great home base for our travel, it felt so peaceful and the staff was beyond friendly. We felt taken care of during a time we wanted rest. We ate at Lazy Goat Tavern, walked the resort, and enjoyed the hot tub in our room (not all rooms have this).
