I appreciate that this hotel has no been left to decay but rather is still operating as a grand hotel in downtown Butte. It lacks some of what we’ve come to see in modern hotels, but this does not mean this isn’t a good hotel. Butte should be more than it is and one expects the place to be buzzing given the richness of the downtown, but alas finding options for food and drink are surprisingly limited. Support this hotel and give more reason for Butte to thrive.

Local gem

We just love the Finlen! Such a great spot in uptown Butte to walk to restaurants and events or enjoy a cocktail on site. However, its historic nature might make those used to 5 star accommodations a bit disappointed. We will definitely be back for some events and holidays.

Very nice place to stay. Close to downtown, shopping, restaurants, are all in walking distance. The old marble Architecture in the hotel and surrounding buildings make it the focal point of staying. As well as all the old 1800 brick buildings in the area. Great place to stay.

If you really enjoy staying in historic hotels, this one is ranks at the top. Hitel is walkable to several different dining & nightlife. Or you can go to the Cavalier Lounge located inside the hotel for a nightcap. Nora, the receptionist was very friendly & welcoming. I would definitely stay here for a much longer visit in the near future.

Parking was convenient - right next to the building and free. The lady at the front desk was very nice. But we were disappointed to learn that even though Expedia said our room would have a fridge and microwave, it turned out not to. The lady at the front desk explained that since the hotel is over 100 years old, it's not set up for most rooms to have fridges and microwaves...only 4 of the rooms have it, and they were all occupied so she couldn't switch us to one of those rooms. So, if having a fridge and microwave is a must, I would not advise staying here. Otherwise, it's a fun place to stay if you are looking for a cool historic experience. Also, they do have fridges and microwaves in their sister property motel that is adjacent, but just not in the hotel rooms (other than the 4 rooms that do).
