I want to start by recognizing the incredible kindness and professionalism of the night auditor, Isaac. He was compassionate and understanding when my daughter and I arrived early, exhausted after a long journey and fleeing a domestic violence situation. He graciously allowed us to use the restrooms and even offered snacks from the vending area, which meant so much during such a vulnerable time.
Unfortunately, the experience with the morning staff was the complete opposite. We were wrongly assumed to be transients and law enforcement was called on us, despite being paying guests. After showing documentation and speaking with Camarillo PD, we were finally allowed to stay. While Diego at the front desk was helpful and kind, the Latina female associate was unnecessarily rude and dismissive when I asked if law enforcement would be returning.
Other downsides: the pool area was disappointing—no spa, just a palm tree where one should be. We also tried calling the front desk three separate times from our room just to ask for forks and never got an answer. All they had available were spoons, which was frustrating.
Additionally, this location is not very family- or pet-friendly. There’s very limited green space for children or service animals to safely play or walk.
P.s A massive Wolf Spider was found in our room.
Overall, aside from Isaac’s excellent customer service, I would not recommend this hotel—especially for families or anyone traveling with pets or in sensitive situations.
