Great location and home base from which to explore. About 15-20 min drive to all the historic Charleston attractions, Sullivan's Island, Sham Creek, Patriots Point. Less than half an hour to Folly Island Pier. Good breakfast with a variety of options. Super friendly staff. Front desk always helpful and attentive. Brandon was great and put my mind at ease about a charge. Hotel was quiet in general. Area was also very quiet and we enjoyed walking around the new neighborhood. There's a park and small pond with benches just steps away perfect for drinking your coffee and birdwatching. After the Holidays we did notice more construction vehicles moving in the area that's being developed right across the street from the hotel. Some were driving too fast for such a residential area so be extra careful as you turn out of the hotel's parking lot.

The room was clean, and everything worked fine but it was lacking any measuring devices to cook with. No measuring cups/spoons. Just the barest of essentials in the kitchen.

The room felt outdated and unkept. There was a big red stain in the carpet and there were 3 trash cans in the kitchen that felt crowded so I ended tucking away two of them away in the closet. Also the lady that was at the reception the Thursday evening I checked in 12/11 was rude.

It was a nice stay. We had a big spacious corner room. We didn’t eat there. It’s a nice location. Right off the main drag. We’ve stayed here many times and always have good luck. We come down 3-4 times a year.

This is a nice hotel in a safe area. Very convenient to downtown Charleston without staying in the hustle and bustle- parking was great and in a well lit area. Customer service was excellent. Everybody was warm and welcoming. The room was very nice and clean. The beds were comfortable and the complementary breakfast was delicious. I would definitely stay here again.

Location is excellent. Staff was also very nice, although it was IMPOSSIBLE to reach anyone at the front desk (by phone) prior to our stay to ask a few questions. The big problem at this Hyatt House is Hyatt. What a dull, drab, uninspired property! From the outside it looks like a municipal building or hospital. The "decor" (if you can call it that) is drab, beige and adorned with fake modern wall art. The only redeeming space was the breakfast area, which was nice (although it did take half an hour for our omelettes to be prepared). Our room (not a suite) didn't even have a sitting chair – and the lamp between the two queen beds didn't have dual settings, was too bright and the shade was also damaged. Nondescript furnishings looked like they were pulled from some warehouse and the brown wall to wall carpeting (room and hallways) felt drab and out of date, even though this is not an old hotel. Honestly, we couldn't get out of there fast enough after our one night vacation getaway. In a city as stunningly beautiful as Charleston, a brand like Hyatt needs to do a way better job. I suggest going down the street to Hyatt Place (we went there first by mistake). It's so much nicer. Better yet, choose a hospitality brand that demonstrates more commitment to design quality and an uplifting guest experience.
