Setting on the small lake with birds is very pretty. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Late breakfast hour was crowded with few food choices left. Note there is no elevator for upper floor.

Wonderful hotel!

Lots of options at breakfast! Eggs, sausage, waffle bar, yogurt bar, cereal, muffins, toast, fruit, juices, and coffee! When there was a line for the waffle maker, the lady running the food service area was making them for people in the back on another machine. Service was amazing! The beds were comfortable and clean.

Very musty. If you don’t have asthma, you’ll be ok, but it’s an older hotel with musty window units and old carpet. I know there are not many options in the area, but I do not recommend for anyone with asthma or allergies. I didn’t sleep due to wheezing and had to leave the room the minute the sun came up. My travel companions were fine.

It was fine. Probably wouldn’t choose it again.

This hotel was ok. Not the worst I’ve stayed at and not the best. Front desk seemed frazzled. While the room was mostly clean, there were cigarette butts left on the patio. It was walking distance to several eateries which was helpful.

We liked having a view of the lake that was really nice and comforting. The room was really spacious the staff was really friendly and nice. The price point was a little high considering its a older hotel. When we left they had started painting the outside of the hotel to update it. So that is good. Now the bad we couldnt go out on the deck next to the pool cause the glass was broke out there. The pool was ok, i think it needs a new pool liner cause it was really loose on the bottom. The pool room was kinda small and only had 1 table. Our stay was really nice though.

I reserved a room for 2 nights for my family, it was 2 queen beds and a sofa bed. Everything seemed okay until I pulled out the sofa bed for the kids and food fell out there was trash under it and the mattress was bear covered in stains and ripped open. I made management aware of this and they were unwilling to change us rooms or fix the problem in anyway their only solution was to give us a cover to cover the disgustingly unsanitary mattress. They would not fully refund my stay because we had been checked in for 3 hours. So disappointed and I would never stay here again! I wish I could add the photos I took!

Best Western Indian Oak – Chesterton, Indiana Where the Water’s Murky, and So is the Mood You’re not checking into the Best Western Indian Oak for the glamour. This isn't a destination. It's a pause—off the interstate, somewhere between where you were and where you’re going. A place with just enough soul to avoid feeling soulless. The room? Decent. Not trying to impress, and that’s fine. A bed to crash on. A bathroom that works. You’re not expecting art on the walls or mints on the pillows. You’re expecting clean sheets, a lock that clicks, and maybe a TV that still has cable. You get that. The balcony—now that’s the surprise. Small, sure. But it stares out at a strange, murky little lake or pond or... something. The kind of body of water that looks like it holds secrets. Maybe an old tire. Maybe a mafia footnote. But somehow, it’s still peaceful. Like Indiana decided it had one last sunset to show you, just to make you stop and breathe for a second. No elevator, though. Two floors, and you’re hoofing it if you're upstairs. Not the end of the world, but if you’ve got heavy bags or bad knees, it’s the kind of detail that bites. And yet—for a quick stop, it does the job. No frills, no fanfare, no apologies. Just a motel clinging to a lake like it knows something you don’t. You check in, you sleep, you move on. Sometimes, that's all you need.
