Poorly maintained
Born and raised in the area and having worked for original owner, I couldn’t believe how dilapidated this hotel has become. This is a potential goldmine that the current owners are neglecting so poorly that I would never recommend to ANYONE!!
Do NOT believe the photos they have posted; they are beyond deceiving.
Poorly maintained (and obviously managed), with hundreds of simple, inexpensive fixes that could make this property at least three stars if not four. And these fixes could generate twice the occupancy as well as the ability to sell the rooms out at a higher rate. It’s a Goldmine going to junk.
One example: two abandoned tires sitting outside of my room’s window during the three days I was there!!! Why they weren’t cleared away is beyond comprehension.
I really wish I knew the owner(s)/management so that I could help them bring this property back to the goldmine it is. But I honestly doubt that they even care, just from witnessing the amount of neglect that simple, inexpensive fixes that could be done so extremely easily.
I was so looking forward to staying here during my visit home. It broke my heart to witness its poor condition and obvious lack of care for the hotel and property.
Do NOT stay here!!
The owners obviously need to feel the pain of low occupancy in order to be motivated enough to start caring for this once Gem of Chesterton and The Dunes.
So brokenhearted.
