NO SOUTHERN CHARM/NO CUSTOMER SERVICE - BAD/RUDE! Stayed at this hotel 4 times over the last two years. This hotel gets worse every time. Tried to call the hotel directly and they don’t pick up. Booked directly on my phone from a rest stop with my booking app. Very easy using Expedia! Upon arrival, desk staff clerk was very grouchy. She mentioned that I was using a third party booking company so I would not get the same service and that I have to pay $100 hold on my credit card - which I didn’t want to do since I prepaid & had a very long trip ahead with another hotel stay with a lot of travel expenses. She took $5 on my card. She said pool was closed when I mentioned that I wanted to swim at 7:30 PM. She said the pool wouldn’t be open until 10 AM, not good! Room was on the first floor with a view of the parking lot with a construction crane *right next to the window.* At 7:40 AM the truck’s loud motor started up with loud beeping. It sounded like a bomb going off & it scared the heck away out of me. I was in a deep sleep since I had a long drive the previous day, plus another 10 hours that day. The front desk clerk ran away immediately when I went to complain.

Friendly staff that explained work being done on hotel. Work crew was done by 5pm and did not restart until 9am the next day. Breakfast buffet staff was very attentive and friendly.

We were put in a room directly over the entrance. It was extremely bright just outside our window, so we couldn't get all the light out of our room. It didn't get very dark. Other than that every thing was good.

The elevator was scary! Only one of the two were operable. The one working made loud clicking noises as it was lowering to the bottom floors. When it was going up it jerked several times. I eventually stopped using it for fear I’d get stuck inside.
