This property is under a remodel which we are not made aware of. The pool was closed which was why we booked this hotel. The reservation was for a king suite with sofa sleeper. The sofa was an ordinary sofa. The desk staff were very kind and gave us a roll out bed to accommodate for the lack of sleeper sofa

Over priced

Place was under renovation and we didn't know until after check-in that the pool was not working. Our room was very nicely updated with new carpet and paint etc, but the room was not thoroughly clean and had a dusty mess all around the mop boards in the room. We also got charged additional charges for kids. We were a family of 4 and we got a room that had 2 queens and were charged an additional 40 for a kid. We paid close to 200 per night with the fees and charges for the kids. We felt that was an astronomical price for the condition of the room and no pool.

Only thing that's upsetting is that the pool was closed. We were in town for a kids basketball tournament, this would have been useful information before getting there. It wasn't open the last time we booked with them last year for the same tournament. We won't be booking there again.

The main areas were not clean. The elevator floor had old pizza and other garbage on it. There were a lot of kids staying the same time we were, so it’s possible that the trash had recently been dropped, but it didn’t look as though the floor had been vacuumed in quite awhile. Our bathtub had black scum streaks all over it and the walls had been splattered with some kind of dirty water. I had to borrow cleaning products from the front desk to clean it all off since it clearly hadn’t been cleaned prior to our arrival. After I cleaned the room, I thought I could finally relax, but no. The remote for the tv wasn’t working so we had to go down to the lobby yet again. Thankfully the woman working at the front desk was very friendly and accommodating. If it hadn’t been for her, I would rate this hotel even lower

Nice hotel

It has been a number of years since we stayed at Astoria. Clerk was friendly. Hotel is under renovations, but clean & neat. Unfortunately the pool & hot tub were unavailable because of the renovation, which is understandable. We will stay again.

Renovating, but open.

I believe we were the only guests, so it was very quiet. Apparently they have been under going a major renovation and the room we had was definitely not finished. Nothing we couldn’t deal with. No coffee maker in the room, but available downstairs. The staff was very nice. We would return.

Quiet but unfinished. Doors not hung properly. Room was void of toilet paper and enough waste baskets. Breakfast was limited and bread and bagels were stale. Terrible pillows and shower barely dripped and no soap for the sink. Wouldn’t stay there again.

Our door could only be opened or closed by pushing with a whole body. The bath faucet broke and water could not be turned off by staff. My husband was able to off the flow by breaking the flow adjuster. We asked for at least a partial refund. Staff said only the booking agency (expedia) could that.

Highly recommend

Beautiful hotel, inside and out. Friendly staff and great amenities. This hotel is currently being remodeled but that doesn't interfere with your stay. With how nice everything is, I can only imagine what it will look like when the reno is complete.

Actual breakfast options that are gluten friendly, friendly staff that helped when asked, clean spacious room and despite the hotel getting some renovations done it was still clean and easy to navigate. Absolutely would stay here again!
