Location and staff are great. Hard to find; a lack of signage of any type made the property difficult to find on a dark rainy night. The Northern Queen is obviously and old dowager and as such a bit rough around the edges with obvious up grades badly needed but with any effort this could be a great palce for a vacation or short stay.

Room was very clean. Bed was good, and more comfortable than I expected. Pillows were uniform, and quite firm (more than I like). Staff was very friendly--It was pouring rain, and I'd forgotten my raincoat, only bringing a warm fleece. The front office person loaned me her large personal umbrella, which saved my bacon.
