Arrived for our 10/4 reservation at about 2:30pm. The place definitely did not look as quaint as shown on the website. It was practically deserted, only a few cars and not a person in sight. Despite seeing a sign that pointed to check-in, we could not locate any type of office. Called the phone number and got no answer. Finally saw an open door on the building labeled restaurant. Went inside to see if we could find someone to help. Not a person in sight and dining room lights were flickering eerily...total Bates Motel/Friday the 13th vibes!! At that point, we high-tailed it out of there and luckily were able to find another place to stay for the night. Definitely would NOT recommend.

Good news first, the Northern Queen Inn is being remodeled. It's Oct 2025 now and by next year this place should be very nice if all goes well. As of now, it's outdated and rundown. Below a motel 6 in all ways except location. It's set in some rolling hills near the highway with beautiful forest lands. It would benefit from a Tahoe cabin style decor interior and an earth-tone paint job outside. Let's hope for the best... the staff was nice.

Our 2 night stay was pleasant. Beautiful surroundings, very friendly personnel. We got extra blankets, and whatever information we needed...they are remodeling now, so its not quite up to par, but it will be soon . I would recommend.

Went there for a 3 day wedding weekend. Property was cool. Staff was super sweet. Room was pretty bad. Clumps of hair on the shower wall, bathroom had a moldy ceiling, carpet was worn to the floor, vanity light out, wall was painted multiple shades of white/yellow. Inside door handle was grimy. Worst hotel I had ever stayed in. But still had an awesome wedding weekend and recommend it for anyone doing a wedding weekend. Huge potential for this place.

Drapes hanging off rod, bathroom moldy around the bottom of tub/shower, walls cracking open and just general lack of maintenance. Friends who live in town asked me where I was staying and I told them. They said not a great decision. Used to be a nice place in the day but is now run down. They are right. Owners: spend some money on your property to upgrade and clean it up. If you can’t afford to do it, sell the property

Cabin was dilapidated, filthy with mold Furniture was disgusting with mismatched couch cushions, rips in the fabric, broken chairs. The kitchen was worthless because it had absolutely nothing. Not even a fork. Not that it was clean enough to cook in anyway Hair in the bathroom, shampoo was missing, toilet was not even bolted to the floor. This place should be condemned....

We stayed in room 408. There was black mold on ceiling in bathroom. We killed 2 brown recluse spiders and it took 10 minutes to get hot water. Night shift Emily was real rude. They try to charge me 3xs for a deposit. Emily night shift threatened me saying that if I didn't sign a paper that I had already signed when I checked in that she said my keys would probably not work. There are just so many things that went wrong. Staying there and I guarantee. I will not be back to that place.also everytime we we open our door it smell like someone was smoking but no one was oit side.

Place is disgusting. Smelled like urine. I ended up staying at a friend's place to sleep. The couch was so dirty I couldn't sit on it. I m raised in the woods so I'm used to dirt. But this is just the grossest place. Worse than the worst motel6 I've stayed in.

Weve stayed here 2 different times and love it. Its our go-to place when we stay in Nevada City. They also have a beautiful waterfall and fern grotto on site.
