If I could rate this better than excellent I would. Great price, great hostess, great retro decor, great comfortable bed. Great location. Just GREAT!

Unbeatable for the price!

Unbeatable for the price. No frills. Simple room, but it does have a fridge, microwave and coffee maker. Clean blowing heater. Tight shower, but excellent shower head. I'd stay here again.

Room was cute, decorated in 50’s Route 66 decor. But water pressure was very low. Motel was close to Carthage, which is an adorable town with amazing Holiday displays.

My stay was fantastic. The clerk at check in was wonderful very friendly and helpful. The property it’s self is very cute I love the decor, I felt right at home room had a couple personal touches I loved and the shower was one of the best I’ve had at any hotel.

I cannot recommend this spot more highly. One of the best showers in any hotel I've ever had, and a very helpful staff. I hope they never lose any of the retro touches!

Retro cute and retro internet.

Very good service when we arrived, friendly and informative. The decor was retro cute. The internet was VERY slow, unusable. We were told that there would be breakfast, including waffles. The morning staff informed us that, "He was sorry, but not the normal breakfast person." So, although there was cold stuff to eat, the breakfast was pretty disappointing. The morning staff was more about excuses than service.

Quiet. Owners were very helpful with info about Carthage. Close to downtown if driving. Pretty lake across from the far end of the motel. Walking trail around it. Room was not cleaned after the first night. We had to go to the office to get clean towels and washcloths the next morning. The room was cleaned well after that.

This retro motel on route 66 is a fabulous property beside a lake in historic Carthage. The proprietor''s care about preserving the traditions of mid 20th century motels for trans continental travelers. We especially appreciated the laundry and the wholehearted welcome. The decor of the rooms was another unique touch. A great value.

Route 66 Gem

Room was comfortable and clean. Owners were amazingly nice. Along old Route 66, motel is of the era and gives the vibe. If you want a clean, quiet room for a good price this is the place. Kellogg Lake across the road, walking trail and park.
