Fabulous Truitt Hotel

I arrived later than expected and check-in was super easy. I immediately went out to find something delicious to eat and had no issues in that department either. There’s so much nearby. The grounds are so comfortable. I sat out on the patio for hours in the morning just soaking up the ambience. It might’ve helped that I was the only guest insight. I won’t hesitate to book again.

The room and facilities were fabulous! Only complaint was the WiFi was not strong enough to run any streaming on the tv. Had to use my own personal hot spot.

Not what we were expecting. It is like an air bnb with roommates, getting into the building is contactless, and there is no staff present. The wooden floors are loud you can hear everyone coming and going. The room did not feel private and our room was small and very dark with only lamps to light the room. We were looking for a more romantic getaway. I think this would be a good place to stay for a work event/business trip or having a group renting multiple rooms.

There were many things to like about this property. The decor was truly striking. The location is next door to the KC Art Institute and just a few blocks from the Nelson-Atkins Art Museum, in a quiet, older, up-scale neighborhood. The Country Club Plaza and Westport are just a walk away. All interactions with staff were quite pleasant. However, the property does not have a "front desk," and I missed having someone available to tell me such things as where to have breakfast or buy a bottle of wine (it turns out the wine was only 4 blocks away). The KC Rail System (streetcar) will have a stop just four blocks away beginning in October.

It was super cute and comfy! Only downside was how dark the bathroom was, not ideal for doing makeup.

Our new favorite place to stay in KC!!

We had a great stay at the Truitt and will definitely be staying here again! The property was absolutely beautiful and very tastefully updated. We loved the multiple indoor and outdoor seating areas, and we couldn't imagine a better location. Just a short walk from the museum and the Art Institute, and a quick drive to shopping and restaurants. This will be our go-to hotel going forward, and we are also excited about trying their other properties as well.

As a writer, I often search for the precise word, trying to avoid the tired trio of fantastic, awesome and excellent. For The Truitt, I settled on "impeccable." Every detail reflected genuine thought—the decor, the operations, the entire guest experience. The sitting area greets you with understated elegance that whispers rather than shouts. Carefully curated art rewards those who appreciate subtlety over spectacle. Our room feels like a private sanctuary, with linens chosen by someone who values true comfort and amenities placed with the kind of intuitive care that distinguishes authentic hospitality from mere service. Treat yourself at The Truitt.

I think I'm in love...

Truly gorgeous boutique hotel. The attention to detail put into this place was just perfect. My hubby and I ran to KC for an overnight trip/concert and I found Truitt and had to book. Truitt is a completely remodeled historic home, it sits in a nice part of town with activities, food and art all around. It is a mix of MCM, classic and modern decor. Parking was accessilble and the instructions for access were easy. It works much like a VRBO or AirBNB, the hosts are off-site but accessible. The room itself was gorgeous. It was dark and moody and cozy. We were on the 3rd floor and the room had huge doormers and windows and a large bathroom. The bed, towels, linens and bath products were all great. I would say the only drawback for me was having to get dressed to go down to get coffee, but I would overlook it and stay here again for sure.
