Let’s start with the good stuff. The staff was friendly and helpful, and housekeeping was excellent. My room was clean and spacious, with a comfortable bed. There was an in-room coffee maker that made decent coffee (but I put in very little water to make it strong). The property itself is just outside of town, but feels distant, and nothing seems walkable. The building is old and badly in need of updating, both inside and out. There weren’t a dozen cars in the parking lot but one door had a sign declaring no vacancy. To be honest, it didn’t feel quite safe. Okay for a quick stop (it’s very near the highway) as a single guy, but I would hesitate to recommend for families.

+ Close to center - Outdated rooms (walls, ceiling) and old, wobbly furniture. King size bed was not true king size (2x twin size) and unsteady. No noise insulation. Anything on the floor above us was audible. - breakfast was supposedly included. Forget it! Okay …there was coffee/tea and a basket of small sized cheap wrapped blueberry muffins. Nothing else was offered. Guess the toasters present were on strike too

The motel was adjacent to a walking/biking trail. However, I had to be moved to another room when I discovered that the faucet popped off when I raise the lever for the shower. The room I was moved to was nicer, but it had a toilet that had trouble with flushing. All during this, the staff, namely Dennis and Miguel did their best to make my stay less bizarre.

Better than good enough.

The parking lot and outside appearance give you apprehension as you enter the building. The lobby is chic shabby and carpets are desperate for a cleaning. We needed dog friendly accommodations and Super 8 filled the bill. The price was right. Our room was spotless as well as the bathroom. We would stay there again.

Made my reservation 3 or 4 weeks in advance...made the 3.5 hr trip to get there...only to find our they had an issue and gave my room away to someone else...didnt even call me about it or anything. Had me drive another 30 mins to a sister hotel and i was told they cant do anything about, if i wanted a reservation, it had to be at least two nights for $300/night. Then i was left with no room to stay and all they could say was im sorry. Never going back.

Heed the Warning - Turn Back - Do NOT Stay Here!!

If you would like for the general manager to fraudulently charge your card for your stay when you have already paid on Hotels.com, this is totally the place for you. Likewise, if you would like to commune with the current transient population of Kingston, including the guy down the hall who makes goat noses while spanking himself all night, again, look no further - this is totally the place for you. However, if you are looking for a nice, respectable, clean motel, definitely try another one in the area. You have been warned. You're welcome.

We waited for 30 minutes to check in since several others seemed to be having difficulty and frustrations in their check in process. We were finally assigned a room, but discovered that our shower did not work. We were told that we would have to wait for about 30 minutes to get a room with a working shower. Two hours went by, and I tried several times to ask about their progress, but I was told that they were very busy with other customers and to go back to my room. The manager had my sympathy initially, but he quickly turned on me with snide comments and completely unprofessional behavior, telling me that he would solve my problem, "in 15 minutes or maybe two hours, but that it might take three hours," if "I stood in front of him instead of going back to my room so he could work." Lots more We decided we absolutely had to leave and find another hotel.

Check-in was a long and confusing process, exceeding 30 minutes. The manager acted unprofessionally towards other customers in front of us, behing their backs. That didn't instill trust that the same wouldn't be done towards us. The stairs and hallways were worn and uneven. Not good for someone with mobility problems. There were no acccessible electrical sockets next to the beds. The room was acceptibly clean. At 10am on day of check-out, a member of the housekeeping staff used her key to entef our room without knocking. I was in the process of getting dressed, so half-naked. When she saw me she said, "Sorry, I was just checking." I reported this to reception, but was given the excuse that the computer system was out. I said, "you don't need a computer to knock." The manager was not on site by the 11am checkout. I feel I should be compensated for this violation of my privacy and dignity.

We arrived the evening before our daughter’s graduation and were told that “a reservation didn’t mean a room was saved for us”. After confirming that our reserved room had been given away, we went back to our vehicle to search for another hotel. The manager followed us to the parking lot, yelling and threatening us, all the while waving his lit cigarette around. My 91 year old father was extremely disturbed by this encounter.

The hotel system was “down” yesterday at check in. It was already 4:30 and my daughter and friends have graduation dinner to attend but they can’t get their room. They decided to leave without checking in and did not come back to use the paid room at all.

The stay and facilities were a good value for the money, and I have no issues with the room. But I am disputing an additional $85.88 charge from Super 8. The charge is in addition to the $109 room charge to which I agreed. I don't know the basis for the additional charge.

On-line we inquired about early check-in, which they said was possible for a fee, but I told my son let's go there and work it out. We arrived at 1:00 for a 3:00 check-in booked thru Hotels.com. They were unable to give us early check-in, although there was 1 car in parking lot. I tried to pay my $100 deposit for my son, so I could leave. They wouldn't take it till actual checkin. At 3:00 ish my son called to put me on the phone with front desk to give them credit card info for deposit. They wouldn't take it. I had to stop what I was doing and come back. At 3:30 is they assigned him a room. Door lock was broken and he couldn't get in room. It took till after 4:15 to get into another room, although the motel was practically empty. Front desk people were polite enough, but clearly not trained or supported to accommodate customers. Front lobby and entrance are gross and unmaintained, in shambles. The whole place - computer systems, staff training, etc, is dismal. For $10 more you can get a much nicer experience at a Quality Inn.

Super 8 by Wyndham in Kingston, NY

It was just one night and everything was just fine. Comfortable bed, good shower, good WiFi....seedy in spots in the room but that was expected. No bugs which I had been warned about. They need to up their signage outside to include the full name of the hotel. There's just one ancient "Super 8" sign near the road but you wouldn't know it was a Wyndham hotel at all.

Front desk guy discouraged check in, he said this is broken hotel and not safe for families. Then we said we have already paid, then he showed dirty rooms so that i do not check in. But at last we checked in and the stay was good. Breakfast was so poor. Only muffins and coffee and orange juice.
