Actually 3.5 star, the extra 0.5 star for the CP value(hotels are expensive in Kauai) and good location, especial the Lydgate Park Pools, my daughter and I have a good snorkeling experience in morning/ sunset (clear water and fishes). Clean room, very friendly staff. My shower tube water draining very slow, maybe because it is a beach hotel, customer play in the beach and bring a lot of sand when shower.

Hotel is right across Lydgate Beach: a very nice beach to just chill and enjoy the water. Staff are friendly and accommodating.

We arrived 8:30pm after a long travel day to find out we had been “upgraded” from a king to an ocean view double queen. We were beyond tired so it didn’t matter much, so we headed to the room without complaint. Upon entry, we were greeted by a damp, musty smelling room…worse than my grandparents basement! Still too tired to complain, we crawled into bed & were asleep within minutes until around midnight when we were abruptly awoken by a repetitive clicking noise. After about 10 mins of searching, we realized it was coming from the door lock. I called the front desk to report & they said maintenance was busy & would send security. Security arrived within 5-10mins. He spent about 1-2 mins looking at the door lock to determine it needed a new battery & asked that we call the front desk back. I called the front desk back & was told they would look for another room or have maintenance come fix. We received a call back within 10 mins stating there were no rooms available & sorry maintenance was also not available but the manager would be alerted & compensation provided. So we did our best to sleep on/off for the next few hrs while the noise continued. Ultimately we checked out before sunrise. Upon checkout, the manager offered a measly $25 credit for our parking & said they couldn’t provide anything further since we booked through a 3rd party even though we are Hilton members. We are beyond disappointed & will no longer use Expedia or Hilton properties instead will stick to Bonvoy!

Yes, there were cockroaches in our room, and the hotel overall appeared somewhat neglected. The first alternative room we were offered had a noticeable mold smell, so I kindly declined and asked for a different option. It took some time until we finally received another room. This experience unfortunately affected our stay, and it makes me more cautious about booking through you again in the future.

What a terrible disappointment! I was shocked to return to my room at 10am after a morning swim to find my rooms had been cleaned and my dress taken. Checkout is 11am and I had not checked out. I was charged a resort fee when the pool was filthy and jacuzzi closed and they had run out of pool towels. I would like that refunded please management. I was also told of a parking charge - at the end of my stay - and there are 2 free car parks within 2 minutes walk. The check in was chaotic and the staff very rude. Despite a precheck - it took 30 minutes and then my room key didn’t work. Female receptionists were slow and rude and unapologetic. Stay somewhere else.

The room smelt of mold, the mattress was lumpy and felt decades old, the duvet was made of sand paper, they charged you $25 to PARK! And the open lots are very far away from the entrance. A $25 dollar facilities fee-we didn't even swim. I pool is tiny not like the pictures at all. Really extremely disappointed and will not be staying there again nor recommend others.
