Seasonal Road Closure Notice: HWY 120 (Tioga Pass) generally closes for the winter from late October through late June. Daily closures can also occur during periods of inclement weather in spring and fall. The Eastern entrance to Yosemite National Park is located 45 minutes from Mammoth Lakes. Yosemite's Eastern Gate or Tuolumne Meadows is not accessible when Tioga Pass is closed. All other Yosemite National Park entrances are open year round. I get check in is at 3/4. However I was stuck in VERY bad weather and in a 3 hour road block. Turning around wasn’t an option. All roads closed. I got a phone call which I’m surprised went through I barely had service. She asked if I was still coming which was nice of her to call. I said I was stuck. She just wanted to make sure I was coming. I’m confused though. Would they have cancelled my night stay? I get there and there is no parking in the parking garage, I park in some random spot on the side. The girl is super nice and offers up her spot in the other parking garage on the other side. Which was super awesome. The property definitely needs to get more parking for customers. Anyways. We get into the room and right away hit with this terrible smell. Like someone spilled the entire bottle of Tommy girl perfume. That is the worst smell. I had to open the windows. It was so sour and foul. The room hadn’t been swept or vacuumed either. One good thing in the room. Clean sheets. The next morning I went to sit at the end corner of the bed. The whole bed came crashing down. I’m 130lbs. I don’t think I’m fat enough to break a bed. But okay. Breakfast was good in the morning. Tons to eat. It was very loud. My room was almost near the top of the stairs. Which is right near the breakfast area. What happens is people sit out there all night talking loud and in the morning. There are also people that live there who apparently get to smoke weed in their room.

Check in was crazy because of so many people needing to check in. Housekeeping took a long time which is why our check in was late. Breakfast was a mess- the layout causes a bunch of people trying to get food. It was busy and some guests literally took all of the hot did so filling it was slow. Super wash was on the wall near the sink and not in the shower. Room was large and clean. Price was very expensive due to availability and holiday reason (snow!)

Disappointed doesn't cut it.

Horrible service. Outdated busted rooms. Door framed has previously been kicked in, latch was broken. Old gas Heater didn't work. During a 6ft snowstorm. Very cold. Bathtub was peeling all over. No hair dryer. Asked for one 5 times, no one every brought one. Hot tub has crack in the middle so needed to stay near edges for safety. Breakfast served at 6-9 islt says but hot food doesn't come out until 6:40/7. Front desk turned off my key card hours before checkout and booked another guest to my room which I was in. They kicked the door open with me sitting there on the bed. Went to get it sorted out and they said to be careful as someone else has a key to my room now. How does that work? Turn them off? Terrible service.

My room was reserved for $228.64 but when I was charged for $233 when I checked in. Is it because my room was changed from one king bedroom to two-queen bedroom? It was changed only because they said ones with king bed had broken TVs and they offered to change to two queen room for the same price. However I realized I ended up with paying little more than hotels.com reserved.

Not Perfect….but damn perfect

Was this place perfect? No. But it was perfect for a quick night before going boarding on the mountain all day. The room had a bit of a funky smell…but that was probably from other snowboarders tracking in snow into the room. It was spacious and clean. The hot tub needs some love…but it was massive and in an awesome indoor room. The front desk clerk was a contrarian who seemed annoyed at my questions…yet was so fast getting us more towels for the hot tub and any other needs. He was excellent. Breakfast was simple and no chocolate milk…but the waffles were awesome and damn good sausages too. All in all…great stay and id stay here again for sure.
