Bad check in

Check in on the website was 3 pm , arrived at 340 , lady at front desk said housekeeping was still in progress with the room , hopefully about 20 minutes , which was fine . Came back 20 minutes later - at 4 pm , was told that the check in time there was really 4 o'clock , but the room should be just another 10 minutes , waited in the lobby another 20 minutes , counted 5 people checking in that got their rooms. I would have been ok with housekeeping is still on it , but straight up lying to my face about check in time was just frikn ridiculous.

We very much liked the Red Lion. It was clean, comfortable, quiet, and was in good condition. We enjoyed using the pool. We also liked that there are several restaurants (and an ice cream parlor!) within easy walking distance. We would definitely stay here again.

The first room we were in smelled really bad - mildewy. the air conditioner was full of dust and debris and clearly had not been serviced or cleaned in years. We moved into a second room, which had a drain fly infestation, but we just stayed in it anyway instead of moving a second time. There were live and dead drain flies all over the bathroom. I went down to the “continental breakfast” advertised as being from 6-10 at 9:30, and there was only one cup of coffee left, no bananas left, no hot food, and 1 muffin left.

Red Lion is my favorite hotel in Grantpass although it is pricey sometimes. It is clean, updated and quiet. Easy to walk to restaurants nearby. The front desk lady is friendly and helpful. Breakfast is good. Recommended.

Great place! Super cute town, lots of food choices all around within walking distance. Very nice staff. My only disappointment was that there’s only one elevator and it’s right by the office. You’ll have to lug your bags up stairs. Other than that, I was very pleasantly surprised.
