Great Location, But a Few Areas for Improvement We had a pleasant stay at this hotel in Myrtle Beach. The location was ideal – just a short walk to the beach, and surrounded by a variety of shops, restaurants, Starbucks, and local stores, making it super convenient for everything we needed. The room itself was comfortable, and we appreciated how close we were to all the attractions. However, there were a couple of things that could have been better. When I went to iron my clothes, the ironing board was a bit dirty, and the iron started smoking, which was concerning. Also, the ice machine wasn’t the most inviting, and I didn’t feel comfortable using it. Another small hiccup was the check-in process. We arrived to find no one at the front desk to check us in, and it took us a little while to figure out where our room was. While this didn’t ruin our stay, it did create some confusion. Overall, this hotel offers great value for the location and proximity to everything Myrtle Beach has to offer. With a few improvements in the areas mentioned, it could easily be a top-notch choice for future visits.

Great stay for a long weekend near the beach. An older property, but it was very clean with comfortable beds, clean linens and plenty of hot water. And important for the wife, it was quiet and peaceful. Easy 1-1/2 to 2 block walk to the beach. Located a bit north of the crowds, but just a short drive into the heart of Myrtle Beach. This was our first experience with the AI registration and check-in. I was a bit hesitant but it turned out to be very easy to use. It was nice not having to keep up with a key or a keycard. We had a very minor issue, I left a message with the manager, and the issue was taken care of within minutes. Super friendly and nice! Holiday Shores checked all the boxes for us, and we will definitely stay again in the future!

The property manager apologized and was very professional, but the door to my room was open when I arrived. They obviously spent money on the interior, but the building itself is a bit outdated and off putting, in my opinion. Not necessarily my type of hotel, but not bad for a last minute stay. Room was clean. I was just passing through.

Cool little motel!

Is it the Ritz? No... But it's a cool little motel that's been renovated and cleaned regularly. We decided on an impromptu trip for the kids spring break, booked it online for $57/night and arrived 10 hours later - pleasantly surprised! We'll definitely stay here again. Maggie at the desk was awesome!

We arrived late in the evening and had already received the room door code since the desk wasn’t staffed. The exterior needed some work but the room itself seemed clean. My husband went back out to get something from the car (I was still in the room) but we were unable to get the door to open and he was stuck outside in the chilly damp air. I found a number to call for help and although the person on the other end was fairly pleasant, she told me that my husband was doing something wrong when he tried to enter the door code—she could “hear” that he wasn’t hitting the check mark button, even though he was outside and I was inside the room. I couldn’t even get the manual deadbolt-like switch to turn. He was hitting the code and the check mark. She sent help and had me remove and reinsert the batteries in the lock multiple times. I finally managed to force the door open, but the lock was loose on the door to begin with. The two people who came to help asked us if we minded leaving the door cracked b/c they were going to have to come back and fix it. We were not willing to do that late at night on the ground floor in an unfamiliar neighborhood and insisted on a new room. We had to pack everything back up and carry it all up the steps. Also, the room had a tv, fridge, microwave—even a Keurig—but no hairdryer. I had a message the next day that they were going to refund our security deposit—which was supposed to be refunded anyhow. No offer of a discounted rate! Won’t be back!

We like the convenience of a small hotel, no long elevator waits, no long walk from the parking deck. They do need new bathroom fans. It sounds like a jet is taking off and you have no choice as to whether you want it on or off.

There was noone in the office during the weekend to give us fresh towel and washrags. The keurig lid was broken and the fridge wasn't cold there wasn't a table or shelf in the bathroom for your clothes after you shower. The room was clean but could of been better. Stayed 2 years ago and the place has changed for the worse.

I booked this as an alternative to a major hotel when attending a convention. It was an easy 10 min walk to the convention. Would I do it again? Certainly and without hesitation. The only problem I had was Expedia sent all notifications to my wife's account (I didn't know she had one) so there was a slight hiccup when arriving. So be sure your Expedia account is accurate! I would not let that impact my decision to stay again.
