The images used in hotels.com are deceiving, as the rooms are the size of a train suite, extremely small. Beware if you’re traveling with family. Water in showers was not hot enough. Not ADA friendly.

Please read until the end. This hotel is one of the most affordable in Manhattan. It's conveniently located near some river side trails, and the Highline Trail which is a must see. There's underground city parking (not affiliated with the hotel at all) right next door. Be prepared to pay over $200 to park there for any long period of time. The hallways are small and so are the basic rooms. You will have to use a community bathroom, but they are clean. They provide a robe for you to use. I would suggest making sure that you have flip flops or slippers. The doors to the shower room and toilet room both lock. All of that being said, I would NEVER stay there again because the hotel has BEDBUGS! At least my room did, and I can't imagine that I was the only unlucky one. I was itching and developing whelps on my arms, ankles, neck, and head very shortly after the second night. I'm still itching four days later. The cheap price isn't worth it. Pay the extra money to stay at a more expensive hotel, find one a ways away and take the commuter train in, or if you have no other option, bring a good sleeping bag, and possibly your own pillows. A word to the wise.

I advise paying for a better hotel. Shared bathroom, tiny rooms that smell strange, and no heat until maybe November so if you go in Oct, it’s chilly in the tiny cabin. Bed is very hard and uncomfortable. You hear everything - any door opening in the hall and your neighbors conversation. The only positive is the friendly staff and location. It’s not worth saving a few bucks to be very uncomfortable here. They should do a gut renovation and make the rooms like standard hotel rooms with a private bath in each with temperature control.

It's a hostel, not a hotel. The bed was very uncomfortable and short. The linens were very thin and since the window didn't latch all the way I was chilly all night. The towels are small and there are no hooks in the bathroom to hang your things on while showering. There are no extras in the bathroom if you run out of toilet paper, the staff was less than helpful in that situation, suggesting I just go to another floors' bathroom. The TV was old and hard to see. The wifi is slow and hard to connect to. The advertised images on their website of the common areas are not accessible to guests of the hotel. You enter through the basement of the hotel and of the staff you see using the elevator don't actually work for the hotel but for the private club nextdoor. If you want hotel amenities, go somewhere else. If you want a decent mostly clean hostel, I guess this is an okay choice.

Rather disappointing how chopped up the hotel is. The lobby is now in basement and they offer no amenities. The mattress was literally a box spring and I could feel the springs which was very uncomfortable.

For what it is, the Jane is fine. As advertised, the rooms are extremely small and the bunk bed is awkward for two. The mattress, particularly on the upper level, is just on slats and not very comfortable. However, the price is right and if you just want a place to sleep, it is fine.;

The room is EXTREMELY small. Shared bathroom smells bad. The shower room doesn’t even have a stool to put clothes on. That pretty much says everything.

It’s a lovely, clean hotel in the meat packing district. The rooms are extremely narrow, so fitting in large luggage can be a bit of an issue. The beds are comfortable and the communal bathrooms are immaculate.
