Overall, our stay was good, but there were definitely a few areas that could be improved. Communication at check-in was lacking, esp considering we paid extra to upgrade to Privilege. One of the travel desk reps gave us misinformation about jet skis being available at the hotel. We found them ourselves at the end of the beach. The food was about what you’d expect at an all-inclusive resort — not better or worse than others. That said, we did receive great service from the wait staff throughout our stay. be prepared to tip everyone who serves you; that’s simply how it works at most AI’s in Mexico. The room was nice & clean, but extremely cold & it seemed like the thermostat didn’t do anything to control the temperature. The Privilege upgrade was decent overall. I’m not sure the butler service is worth the extra cost, though the butlers themselves were very kind & helpful. The separate Privilege restaurant & designated seating areas by the pool & beach were a nice touch & added to the experience. One thing I appreciated is that this isn’t a timeshare property, so there was no hassle from anyone trying to sell you something. The nightly entertainment was okay — they cater to a certain crowd w/mostly EDM/techno music. It keeps the energy up but leaves out those who prefer variety. I’ve seen better shows at other resorts. The spa was small but nice. All in all, it wasn’t a bad stay, but with so many great places to choose from in Mexico I’d try somewhere else next time.

First time getting a massage! It was amazing at their spa! I highly recommend and they have deals! Relaxing and the staff treated us well. I loved Ocean Maya Royale! Definitely amazing for an all inclusive resort for adults! The drinks were delicious and food was delicious. They also offer tour excursions which my husband and I did. Prepare for a tour with water, a charger, a back pack, swimwear, sandals, snacks, and mosquito repellent. Bring mosquito repellent to the resort too. I love the little animals roaming around. They are harmless. All the staff were nice and welcoming. They accept tips in dollars and pesos. The ice cream bar by the pool was nice and they also have a pool bar. If seaweed doesn’t bother you (depends on season, we went in October) then I highly recommend the beach. It’s walkable. The water is neutral and warm temperature. The sand is soft. For our honeymoon, it was such a perfect vacation for our first time outside the USA. We felt safe too!

Very nice place, its definitely not the Hyatt Zillara but it is very good. The property is a bit dated, however, it is very well kept and the staff is awesome. The restaurants could use a few more servers. Overall, i rate it 8/10.

This property is kept to an “okay” standard. The room was clean but I felt it could be sanitized better and not feel so sticky even after cleaning. The air conditioning was appropriate and kept the room cool. Dining areas were warm for the most part. The food was not up to standard in my opinion. Everything was bland and always seemed picked over at any time. Very disappointing because I chose this resort due to its proximity to the airport and the adults only option. Alcoholic drinks were the usual watered down variety. Wine by the bottle (only) was incredibly expensive and over priced for cheap wine. Restaurants could not be booked unless you are a Privilege member so if you wanted to dine at one of the three options there was always a lengthy wait. If you care about the quality of food make a different selection. This is not a place for flavorful cuisine. Entertainment needs to be improved all around. The staff are nice enough but not overly enthusiastic about the work they do in a tourist-based resort. I will not return nor would I recommend this place. It was just okay!
