We have stayed here previously, and this was one of our favorite trips and stays. The breakfast bar was weak, but good enough for some protein and such they only had boiled eggs cold. The place is very clean. I use the gym very nice and the rooms are very accommodating. Will stay there again.

Very nice inn at prime location. The staff were friendly and the facilities were clean. The mattress was very bouncy and comfortable. Our kids enjoyed the pool, though the temperature of the pool was a bit on the cooler side, so they only spent less than half an hour each time they got in.

There was a nice looking patio area outside the pool house, but the fire pits were not working. When we walked in, the room smelled very damp. Thankfully, it was very cool at night, so we slept with the windows open. The location was a short drive to the nearest grocery store, the village of Rockport with its cute shops and Gloucester.

First impressions upon checking were excellent as the hotel reception had been refurbished to a stylish and contemporary feel, so we were optimistic about our stay…however, upon entering our room there was a smell of some kind and the pillows were really old and lumpy (well past their purpose) also the pillowcases were yellow and old looking, so not appealing at all. The hotel did change them for new ones but overall the room was old and in need of updating in line with the reception. At £250 for one night not good.

Outdated hotel with the basics in a great town

We arrived late after driving through a big storm. It was unseasonably cold and while we had heat in room hard to sleep with hot air - maybe an extra blanket would help. Clean enough room with some modern updates . Very outdated facility overall though - some furnishings included. Breakfast not bad. Ideally this and most other places would consider offering fewer packaged processed plastic wrapped food options or at least reusable coffee mugs but I’m sure cleaning and food waste would be hard. Staff was minimally cordial several times acknowledging us only when we asked questions

Nice clean and quiet rooms. Bathroom was pretty small. Continental breakfast was just ok. Only eggs were hard boiled. No waffles.

There was a large, loose tear in the carpet, despite the fact we arrrived early in the season. Breakfast was skimpy. I understand it is "Continental" but why not a bit of cereal or granola? They can't manage any croissants such as one buys at Costco, only the single, plastic packages of pastries? The staff on the desk is supposed to watch the breakfast area, but they sit looking at their phones until one asks for coffee, etc. to be refilled. Housekeeping never came through in 4 days, even though the desk noted that I asked for towel and trash service when my wife arrived to join me. Staff also ignored the "Please make up this room sign." When I finally simply asked for a few towels, the cleaning person said no, and pointed to some other building where I was supposed to go for them. Management does not seem to care much about the customer's experience.

Pool needed to be cleaned. Breakfast was good. Room was clean. Staff refused to look at rooms to see if I could have an early check in but the hotel seemed pretty empty while I had a wedding to go to.
