The Wayfarer is our go-to when in San Diego. You are steps from the beach and can be oceanfront if you choose the right room. It is perfect walking distance to numerous restaurants and shopping. The patio and pool are great. Our last stay we watched every sunset from the hot tub. Clean comfortable rooms throughout the property. Love this spot!

We enjoyed our nicely decorated 2 bedroom ocean front room here! Great people watching on the boardwalk out front. Pool area clean and nicely decorated, as was lobby. I wish the little coffee bar inside the hotel had some more food options/grab and go. Also an evening hour for coffee. Otherwise, the only other walkable coffee place closes right afterwards. Parking is tight especially for larger cars or trucks and is $40 per night. The parking garage has a 6’ clearance but some limited outside parking.

Hotel is cute, well maintained, friendly staff! We didn’t know the area well so it’s in a high traffic area… was tolerable still tho. Depending on your preference may be preferred because it’s a great location. I only say 4 stars for our preference and pace but I a decade or two again 5 stars all day!

Perfect beach vacation

Amazing location for a perfect vacation. It's right on the Pacific beach with full or partial views of the sea giving unforgettable beach holiday vibes. Everything about this hotel was great - the ambience, interior decor, and service. The gate from the pool area opens right on the beach boardwalk. Nice places to eat/drink nearby walking a few minutes in any of the directions. While parking at the designated hotel parking is expensive, it is feasible to manage with free parking on the streets nearby (esp. Pacific beach drive) if you are okay walking for 3-5 minutes (2-4 blocks). We were able to manage with free street parking even on a long weekend.

This hotel is outstanding! You are right on Pacific Beach and can fall asleep to the sound of ocean waves. If you have any concerns, the hotel management is super quick to respond. The coffee is delicious and the whole environment is incredibly relaxing. I highly recommend!!

The room was small. I was expecting a little bigger room in that price. Before we came to this place we were in Carlsbad in Hilton hence comparison is with that room. They charged almost same price as Hilton. The view of the ocean was awesome. The carpets are now outdated and need replacement.

Staff turned my crappy trip at la jolla cove, into an amazing trip. Great customer service, clean pool, amazing location. We got a oceanview balcony and will definitely be coming back

This was our second time staying at this property. It was just as excellent this time as our past experience. Check in and check out are simple. The oceanfront king suite is unmatched and had a lot of space. The staff is always amazing and kind. The coffee and breakfast bar was nice as always. The overall view was magnificent. Cons- Noisy people outside at all hours of the night. The price is extremely steep. Other than that, no cons. I would definitely come back but probably not request such an expensive room next time.
