This hotel is quaint and in a great location in Union Square. It's good for a night or two if you're not planning on spending much time in the room. There is no air conditioning but there was a ceiling fan and an extra fan in the room which was sufficient during our stay as the weather was in the mid 60's. The room had a musty odor and the bed was a bit soft for our liking.

The hotel room does not have air conditioning. I didn’t mind since opening the window was enough to cool down the room. So I’m still giving it five star. Location is the best part, very convenient, and on the cable car route.

It was clean room and their service was good I could get apples and delicious cookies with coffee anytime. It was very useful and helpful while traveling. But the room was quite small and little bit uncomfortable for staying 4 family members. Plus, it was very noisy whenever passing by cable cars and from construction site I could not fully sleep.

Double booked our toom

Our room got double booked so while my partner and I were sleeping two people walked into our room. Thankfully nothing bad happened, but when I brought it up with the front desk all I got was a sorry. I feel like there should be more accountability and attention to detail when people’s safety are at play.

This is a very charming hotel. It has character and the staff are extremely friendly. I was concerned about the lack of air conditioning, but it was not a problem at all. I would stay again.

Friendly hotel with beautiful period fixtures and fittings. Small but comfortable room with en suite. Disappointed not to have any view from room as this wasnt completely clear when booking. Would book direct with hotel for a return visit to ensure choice of room/floor.

The staff was absolutely friendly and helpful...Shout out to Vivian, David, Alicia, Gem and Richard!!! The hotel is located right in the center of Union Square!! Be aware the hotel is older and the walls are thin, so you will hear your neighbors talking through the walls and that's why the hotel provides earplugs...and white noise machines. If you're a hard sleeper, you won't have any issues!
