Horrible hotel experience. It started from the time I was waiting at the airport to be picked up by the shuttle. I was unsure what time it would arrive so I tried to call in advance, the phone kept ringing and ringing.
The shuttle then arrives about 25 to 30 mins after I called. The shuttle driver gets off and completely walks right by me although I was saying “hey are you going to the travel lodge”. He helps a passenger behind me, loads their items, and helps them get into the shuttle.
I had two littles with me (a 9 month old and a 3 year old) and was traveling solo with them. I had a carry on, a suitcase and a stroller wagon.
I struggle to get my stuff in. He offered minimal assistance but a passerby sees I am struggling and helps me get everything on.
When I arrive to the property, there are other individuals in the lobby but I am dealing with two kids trying to get my stuff together and am not hearing what they told previous patrons. I walk up to the counter and say “hi I am here to check in”. The front desk staff (woman) smuggly says “it’s at 3”. Mind you we arrived a little after 1, like 1:15 or so.
Not a problem, I take my hungry kiddos to go eat at IHOP next door. Amazing service by the way!
We come back after 3, check in, and then go to our room. The room has a weird smell and was not clean. I tried to just manage but we couldn’t stick it out so I rearranged travel arrangements and attempted to go back to the airport later that evening (around 8 pm),
