Clean room, friendly and efficient staff, big bathroom. Need more shelves and towel bars/hooks for shower and also for sink. Construction next door started early, looks like it will be done soon. Need drinking glass for bathroom and cup for coffee or tea. Bathroom light was motion activated so it was on and off during the night and also while I was in the shower. Seems like an easy adjustment.

Great for the price

As someone who's been poor all my life, I've become a connoisseur of cheap hotels. This stay was excellent for the price. I had low expectations, and they were significantly exceeded. This is the perfect place if you need a place to stay on a budget and aren't too concerned about amenities. Staff was friendly and unobtrusive

I checked. They charged a $10 fee for early check-in, which I never paid when staying at other properties. Property looked old and dated, and seemed like no updates or improvements done for years. I ended up checking out a few hours later and stayed at another hotel

This hotel is in deplorable condition. When we arrived at our assigned room, the door was wide open. The lock bolt was completely ineffective, and the only way to secure the door was with a flimsy chain. The room had a distinctly old and unclean atmosphere. The carpet was stained and filthy; our sheets were strewn with hair and remnants of dried food. The mattress was extremely uncomfortable, as I could feel the steel coils digging into my back. To top it all off, I was awoken at midnight by the snoring from the neighboring room and barely managed to get any rest. The outdoor parking garage was cluttered and chaotic. While the location is ideal for accessing downtown on foot, I would not recommend this hotel.

Really nice staff and clean rooms. Just need to manage your expectations because the property and rooms are really old and run down with the exception of a couple of single queen bed rooms that have been updated. But the double queen rooms have yet to be updated. Best price for being in close proximity to downtown SLO.

A decent place to sleep...but that's it.

First, I wasn't expecting much given the price of this inn, but it still left a lot to be desired. If you just need a place to sleep with clean sheets and don't want to break the bank, then this is your place. But if you are with family or a couple even, I would not recommend this Inn. There were a lot of things that could be updated (carpet w/stains, curtains w/stains, old vanity in bathroom with what looked like mold at the bottom, old bed, and walls that could be fixed re painted.) I guess you get what you pay for...
