We heard about Madonna Inn from many friends and since we were going to be in the area we decided to spend 2 nights. As a family we prefer hotels that are newer and no carpet but still wanted to try Madonna Inn. We got a last minute deal and took it. The uniqueness of the rooms are interesting, we got a double queen bed which was perfect. We loved the pool, my kids used the tennis courts as well. We ate out - found some nice places in downtown SLO and got to visit the Thursday farmers market. we would stay here again but pick a room with no carpet ( just our preference).

I had heard about this place and thought it would be worth the stay. The room needs major update. I get it, these are supposed to be themed rooms, but they are old, very outdated. The noise level was by far the worst I have ever experienced. I could hear everything from other rooms. This was the first time I have ever called the front desk to ask to have other guest in the adjacent room to turn down their music and their screaming. I have traveled a lot, and this was the worst stay. I have to say that the responsiveness from security was fast. Also, the staff at the bar were great. I don't usually do reviews but I felt that this was needed. The hotel needs to invest on renovating their rooms to give their guests a quieter and more comfortable sty.

Quirky Fun

If you love all things ornate, and over the top kitschy, then this is the place for you. We had fun exploring the property and the fun details in every corner. We stayed in the Dot & Daisy room (I recommend a room with a balcony), one of the cheaper rooms, but still it felt special. We ate in the main restaurant, which is on the pricier end, but delicious (let them know when you make the reservation if you are there for a special occasion. They gave us a huge piece of cake in honor of our anniversary!)

Much more beautifuo and clean than I expected . Staff if friendly and the horses are beautiful . Pooo was very warm , pool bartender could have used some help as there was a big line ! May suggest bringing your own snacks and drinks to the pool. Beds were so comfortable and the location close to so many things . Champagne cake divine .

My 6yr and 9yr children and I love coming to Madonna Inn but this time the room we were in (Sky Room) seemed a little run down and dirty. Wallpaper peeling off walls, balcony was very cobwebby, and there was an ant problem in the bathroom that only got worse during our stay. I somewhat feel like ants can happen anywhere but i called immediately when we checked in, then had to call again when after showering it got worse. The housekeeping staff seemed to blame us for the ants saying sometimes kids bring sugar in. They didn't, and again, it was a problem before we got there. At any rate, aside from that it was fine. Lots of space in Sky Room and the pool was so lovely.
