Disappointed

The outside of the property looked nice. Once entering the lobby staff was very friendly and accommodating. Walking to the room through the hallways there was a distinct smell of mildew. Entering room, hole in the bathroom wall, bathroom dispensers were all empty. The pool had things floating in it, and the pool area had trash all over. Breakfast the next morning was very disappointing with limited choices, no eggs, no breads and bacon looked like dog treats.

Detail

It was not a bad hotel. It's a pet friendly hotel which is ok, but the only concern is the room cleaners has to pay attention to animal hair and other things from animals particularly. One of the chairs in the room I couldn't sit on because it had dog hair on it.

The juice machines were all empty the whole stay I asked for juice on our last morning there and was told no we are out till further notice. I’ve machine on first and second floor we’re out. Ran out of toilet paper and had to find a housekeeper for some was just faster to buy some from corner drugstore.

The property was gorgeous and staff was friendly. As soon as we walked in our room we were smacked in the face with an awful smell of mildew. I mean BAD. The room was clean (except for the dirty washcloth hanging over the shower rod) and well kept. The bedding was cozy. The breakfast was delicous. The smell ruined it for us though.

Rooms were awesome, a single King and a 2 Queen suite. Kitchen in the suite had a full size refer and all the utensils to cook. Didn't have any forks. Free breakfast was cold and looked unappetizing on 3 of the 4 mornings. On Fri when it looked good, everything was out and despite having an hour left in the service nothing was replaced.

Pet Expensive, not Pet Friendly

If you're thinking of bringing your pet, don't come here and make the same mistake I made. The Pet fee ($80 with tax) is three times as high as comparables hotels (unless you stay three nights, since then that one time fee applies to all three days in total). I missed it in the fine print. The hotel was nice enough for our one night, but the pet fee made it way more expensive than if we had gone to another competitor.

We had a good stay at Larkspur Landing during the 2025 Notre Dame commencement weekend. The hotel was nicely decorated for the occasion, which added a festive and welcoming touch. The staff were especially kind and accommodating—after we checked out, they still offered us extra bottled water, which we really appreciated. One of the biggest surprises was the breakfast. There was a great variety of options, much more than we expected, and everything was fresh and well-stocked. Overall, a very pleasant experience and we’d definitely consider staying here again for future visits.
