Adorable!

Adorable, beautifully decorated cottage. Easy walk into downtown with our dogs. Check-in was easy. The stairs are steep and narrow, and there is no first floor bathroom, so it’s not ideal for someone with any mobility problems. But it was perfect for us. *The hot/cold handles on the second-floor bathroom sink are reversed.

Great Location…needs some attention

The location was great, but the house itself needs some attention. The pictures were a little deceiving in that the only pictures of the stairs was the 1st flight and that was taken at an angle. The second set of steps were very narrow and straight up to the master bedroom where the balcony was off limits due to repairs. The master bathtub had not been cleaned before we got there.i would say that this is not a house to rent if you are an older person due to the stairs and the risk of them being steep, narrow and a risk of falling. No icemaker, so you would have to get ice unless you what to empty ice trays daily. The kitchen itself was well equipped, and the main living area was nice just not a place to stay if stairs are any issue for anyone in your group..

Good house which could be exceptional

Overall, our stay was good. The house is super cute and in a wonderful location. There were a few things which could use some improvement, like interior cleaning (excessive dust and webs in the upper most bathroom, and the outside walkway to the front door was pretty overgrown. Overall a yard clean up/maintenance would fix this issue. Additionally, we sent a message to our contact listed in our instructions from Evolve and never heard back. Thankfully it wasn’t anything serious. But not a great thing as a guest not to have contact. As mentioned in other reviews, the upper level stairs are super steep. So if you have an issue with stairs, this might not be the place for you. It was quite comfortable and again, in a fantastic location. And the claw foot tub was a big plus for me! One suggestion I think would be beneficial is to have a central “book” or guide with all the details for the house in one location. Instructions for everything were randomly placed.

Great location

Adorable house close to shopping/restaurants

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay on Leonard St. The house was cute and old and quirky. The king size bed was very comfortable and I would have liked to take the claw foot tub home with me. If you have trouble navigating stairs this is not the place for you. The stairs are narrow and a bit steep. The property is easy walking distance to the shops and restaurants of Southport. We would love to stay there again.

Walking distance to almost everything

We had a comfortable stay in this treehouse with our dogs. The shops, best restaurants, wine shops, Maritime Museum, and waterfront are all in comfortable walking distance…yet the house and neighborhood were peaceful and quiet. Be sure to wear your fitness device as you will definitely meet your goal for “floors” with the 3rd floor master!

Cute Cottage in Great Location

We stayed with family for a long weekend in Southport. The location is great, not far at all from local restaurants and the water. Also the ferry to Fort Fisher is a short car ride away too. We had a great time here. The house is unique and inviting and we plan to come back.

Adorable cottage!

What a gem this place is! It was the perfect home base for our family summer beach trip. The cottage itself is so well decorated and has an old world charm. We loved sitting in the little courtyard without coffee in the mornings and wine at night. The house was within walking distance to everything Southport has to offer. We barely used our car the whole time. The hostess was friendly and quick to respond any time I had a question. Would 100% recommend to friends. We will be back!

Comfy and Cosey Cottage Getaway!

This property was perfect and met all expectations! Just up the street from most of the local shops and just a couple of miles to the Fort Fisher Ferry and Kure Beach where the NC Aquarium at Fort Fisher is located and the beach access for 4x4's. In the opposite direction and 20 minutes away are the Oak Island public beach access points. The property is rustic yet has everything you need. It almost feels like Bilbo Baggins from the movie The Hobbit could greet you at the door and ask you yo go on a magical quest! Thanks for the great experience!

Southport Charm

Very charming and cozy cottage style home with a lot of conveniences (full kitchen, washer/dryer, updated bathrooms). There is no bathroom on the main level and the stairs are very narrow and steep. This house could easily be a 5 star property if there was a good deep cleaning done on the interior with a bit more attention given to the exterior (power washing, cutting back shrubbery and cutting the lawn) to rid the patio and porch areas of black mildew. Overall, our stay was enjoyable and the quaint charm of the property was as expected.

Clean and pleasant

Stayed here over the Easter holiday and enjoyed the home and location. Once you part at the house, unless you want to travel outside of downtown, you won't have to get back in your car. Great location and quiet.
