There are 3 things a hotel needs to nail the basics: A comfy bed, good wi-fi, and a hot shower. Unfortunately, the Churchill utterly failed in the hot shower department. Even after maintenance claimed they fixed it, we never got more than lukewarm water in our 3 nights there. Beyond that, our room was spacious but the overall fit and finish was middling -- small holes in the couch upholstery, etc. But they do get credit for good in-room coffee.

I’ve stayed here multiple times in the past and it was nice, but this time the staff was horrible. The front desk employee was watching soccer on his phone instead of helping guests and spoke rudely and loudly without basic courtesy like “please” or “thank you.” The room wasn’t set up as promised, and when it was fixed there was no apology—just an attitude as if he was doing me a favor. Very unprofessional and disappointing.

Restaurant was closed the night of our stay which was disappointing. I also had to pay $70 for “valet” which was just us parking our car in the front and it was never moved so we paid $70 just to have our car sit on the property.

I had overall a great stay at this place. The staff was kind. The room was good. I think the room could have been better cleaned. Some visible stains in the bathroom. Overall, this hotel is a nice, affordable spot located in a great place in the city. Will have to come back when visiting DC again.

The positives: The room was very spacious, and I liked how the toilet was separated from the sink with an actual door. I appreciated the tea and coffee in the morning, but they should add a low fat milk option. Great location for people who want to visit Adams Morgan and the surrounding area. The less positives: Double beds are too small for two adults. One of my sons ended up sleeping on the chaise lounge as a result. It's striking given that there is plenty of space for two queens. The shower has no grab bars, and there is nothing to make the shower floor less slippery when it's wet. The labels on the shampoo, body wash, and conditioner are difficult or impossible to read, especially when someone isn't wearing their glasses during a shower. Overall, however, we enjoyed our stay.

It was a quiet, clean and very elegant hotel in a nice location. Our only problem was that the heat in our room wouldn’t turn off and could not be properly adjusted so we ended up opening a window for better ventilation and cooling. Other than that it was a pleasant stay. Also, if an area with an ice machine for guests can be added that would be very helpful. I would definitely stay here again.

First I just have to acknowledge the beauty of the architecture, not limited to modern colonial styles homes. Whoever the interior designer is… Bravooo. My favorite part about my stay was Aurora, her welcoming and gentle nature was such a pleasure to share the same space as her. She was the only one working the front freak that evening. That particular day was very busy even for the lat hours, I was even very surprised of all the traffic coming in. I was mostly impressed how she took care of customer individually, without loosing her patience. There were a lot of high demands being requested of her from the majority of the traffic coming in. Aurora held her composure, kept her gentle smile and proceeded to execute each task proficiently with confidence. With the satisfaction customer. Except from one elderly woman whom seem to be set in her ways. Regardless of how ruffly that woman action was. Aurora patently waited until the woman finish speaking, and said how can I help you so you can be better served. She then fulfilled the woman request as the woman grumbles and walks away. I told her I saw stewardship, her kindness, and patience for other. This is what Leadership Looks Like. She proceeded to assist me and my daughter with reservations for our room. After that long line of customer being checked in, phone ringing non stop, and demands of other. She still kept the same demeanor. This speaks volumes of her character, and the passion she has for humanity.

The staff was very unhelpful. The water was cold in the shower and never got hot I stayed there for two days and they never fixed the water . The room 418 was next to the elevator and it was a horrible noise all day and all night. One of my worst hotel experiences ever.
