Employees Matter

Front desk employees were beyond helpful and friendly. I had absolutely no issues during my stay, but I can guarantee if I did the employees I met during check-in would have went above and beyond to fix the issue. Very warm and welcoming people. No matter how nice a hotel is the employees can make or break it if their attitude is miserable. And the two employees at check-in were just a delight.

Room was clean. Walls were thin. I didn't appreciate until I got into the room that a double is 2 DOUBLE beds not 2 queens. Can't remember a time when I booked a room with 2 double beds. Clean room. Bath towels were good thickness. Service was good. We ate free breakfast today. Loved the waffle maker! Cafe was not lit. Would like customer access to lights when staff forget.Hard to see without lights.

The woman that checked me in was wonderful. Very personable and laid back. The property itself is dated, but my room was clean. Slight strange odor when I first got in the room but nothing overwhelming. Not a foul odor just different. All in all for the price and just for a night it meets all expectations coming in.

Our room smelled like fish. Tv didn’t work and when we tried to show the desk clerk she swore at us for moving the tv so she could see what was wrong. She did apologize after I said to not treat us that way with her language. She did move us to a better room but the damage was already done for our experience

Through Expedia, I booked a King bed with a sofa bed for 3 adults and 2 children. This evening, I went to check into the room, and the receptionist told me that she could not book for 5 people. I explained that the website allowed it, and she replied that it was made through Expedia, and not through their hotel. So I immediately went to their own website where it showed that the king bed room is allowed for up to 6 people. She refused to look at their own website and acknowledge that, and just said that there is nothing she can do. So I called my wife who was waiting in the car for me to finish checking in, and tried to explain to her what happened. My wife reiterated over the phone what i said that we had already successfully booked the king room, and that we were honest about it being for 3 adults and 2 kids, and that both Expedia and their own website allowed that, and our concern that it was 10 o'clock at night and we suddenly had nowhere to sleep. The receptionist upon hearing that and not wanting an argument, quickly said that we can leave or she would call the police. I was surprised that she reacted that way so quickly instead of trying to help find a solution. She did not offer a different room or multiple rooms, or another cot or roll-out bed, or any other recommendations, assistance, or explanation. So I quickly left, not wanting to make her feel like she would need to call the police, but also shocked at the worst customer service I ever experienced.

Our stay

The young man at check in was very helpful after a glitch with the reservation. He was kind and helpful. Everything worked in our room which wasn't the case the last time we were there. There was dirt in the corner by our tub but everything else was fine. It is a decent place to stay for the price.

Only a few things I found off

The room was practically immaculate, only things I saw that were a bit off was the microwave was missing the front glass piece and there was some things on the ceiling. Honestly I would still stay here, but next time, I’m double checking the ceilings in the rooms.
