Had a great huge room overlooking the lake. Taxis and Ubers are easy to get. My only regret is that I didn’t have enough time to enjoy afternoon tea! The next trip to Chicago I will be staying at the Drake!

The Drake was built in 1920 as an elegant hotel with beautiful flourishes and spacious rooms. Too bad Hilton doesn't invest in the remodel this grand dame deserves. I would stay at The Drake again simply for the memories from my wedding night (29 years) and the nostalgia it evokes for more glamorous eras. For this, I tolerate the faded wallpaper, cheap furniture and lighting, and outdated bathroom with a flooding shower tub. On the positive side, housekeeping is great, breakfast is good, the hall carpeting was colorful and new. Best of all, you can't beat The Drake's lakefront location!

The Drake. Enough said.

The Drake has lost some of its bling from the old days, but it's still a fabulous stay. We really enjoyed the view over Oak St. Beach, and the proximity to the Lake and Michigan Ave. can't be beat.

Beautiful historic hotel

The Drake is a wonderful historic hotel in a perfect Chicago location. In addition to its large rooms with lake views they also have 2 on site restaurants. We enjoyed drinks or dinner at the Coq d’Or 3 of the 4 nights of our stay. Our visit was business related and the front desk could not have been more accommodating with their help scanning and sending documents. There is no doubt we will return to the Drake on our next visit.

Great location but average stay

The location was great! Close to the beach and bikes for the boardwalk. Short walk to some great shopping and not too far away from the river walk. The room was quite dated and it was not super clean… I could tell the bathroom hadn’t been deep cleaned in awhile. No fridge in room (could request one to be brought but seemed like a given for the price point). For the price, I don’t think we would stay there again but I would absolutely stay in the location for another Chicago getaway.
