I was extremely disappointed with my stay at Black Rock Mountain Resort. While I was aware from the website that the hotel was under construction, I did not expect it to have such a negative impact on my experience. The construction obstructed our view and took away from the relaxing getaway we had hoped for. The cleanliness of the room was another huge issue. The carpet had noticeable stains, and worse, the bed linens were covered in dog hair. The bathroom was just as unkempt, with hair on the toilet and shower walls—completely unacceptable for any hotel, let alone one at this price point. To make matters worse, the water in the shower kept turning cold, forcing my family, including my toddler, to take freezing baths. Watching my child shiver in what was supposed to be a comfortable, relaxing stay was frustrating and upsetting. The room itself was disappointingly small, with beds so close together it felt cramped and uncomfortable. There was no art on the walls, making the space feel empty and uninspired. Additionally, they don’t offer valet parking, which would have been fine if the overall experience had been worth the cost. But at nearly $1,000 for two nights, this was beyond unacceptable. We travel often, and we have never had an experience like this before. For the price, I expected cleanliness, comfort, and a higher standard of hospitality. Black Rock Mountain Resort needs to do better—ensuring that rooms are properly cleaned before check-in and addressing their hot

We loved the price point of this property. It was very clean, welcoming, great amenities. And relatively convenient to PC/ Deer Valley for our three days of skiing. The shuttle service was a huge plus. We stayed in a two bedroom unit. My only complaint was that the living room Couch was very uncomfortable and ‘low end’ feeling. Everything else was great!

During snow day the snow plowing schedule around the property around 4:00 AM, and the loud noise from the machinery makes it extremely difficult to get a good night’s sleep. While I understand the necessity of clearing the snow, I suggest if there’s any possibility of adjusting the schedule to a slightly later time or using quieter methods where possible.
