The Alma hotel is great, loved the room decor and quality and the lobby bar was fun. The hotel is right next to a bus stop and tram so a bit of homeless around but that is the only downside.

The front staff was very professional and friendly. We felt welcome. The location is excellent and it's close to restaurants and bars. The room was very clean but unfortunately our neighbors were a bit noisy. When we tried to claim our complimentary glass of wine, the bar tender ignored us and didn't even greet us. We waited for several minutes and ended up leaving because it felt like we were begging for a mere glass of wine. This was on a Saturday evening. Other than that, we had a good stay. I don't think we'll be returning though. Thanks!

Convenient location

Nice trendy hotel. mattress needs replacing as they sink in the middle. Temperature control didn’t work well and was too cold at night and not enough bed covering. Staff are very pleasant and good location. Like the cafe and assessable bar. Think a little too pricey and not sure I would pay that price again and don’t understand a resort fee for a downtown hotel!

Great hotel downtown

Great hotel in the Gas Lamp district. Lots of dining, and amenities nearby. The room was comfortable with great style and decor. I will say the lights had a short and several of them did not work properly. The fridge also did not stay cold. Pool is great and lots of great seating. Food and drinks were great and the staff is very friendly and accommodating. Affordable parking is a challenge, but it is downtown San Diego.

Avoid at all costs! Room is smelly from the nearby restaurant vents. Staff are poorly trained and don’t follow along complaints and solutions. Food credits are confusing to use
