The check in time is strictly 3pm even when there are rooms available. If a guest wants to check in a bit earlier than 3pm, he/she has to pay $10/hr earlier. This is not a common practice as far as I know.

We had a connecting flight the next morning so we booked Hotel Aluxor for a quick stay. Our expectations were exceeded in how nice, clean and convenient this hotel was. The only downside was that the windows allowed a fair amount of street noise in and the AC was on the loud side. But I would definitely stay here again in a heartbeat if I were in the same situation. Wonderful experience!

The room was clean and spacious as was the bathroom. Good shower with awesome pressure and plenty of hot water. While I didn't have a car, they do offer free parking which is ALWAYS a nice perk. The shuttle was nice, although it has seen better days. Train station is about a 15-20 minute walk and that takes you right into San Francisco. The snack station was not well stocked, but plenty of bottled water. The building itself is nice, but very chilly. The cost was very reasonable and would definitely suggest this place for a trip here.

It's a decent, affordable and convenient to the airport hotel. Also, they were very kind to keep our bags for us until late while we went into the city even though we weren't staying that night.
