We actually didn't have an issue with the property itself at all. Our biggest issues were 1. Both times we stayed here the guy who checked us in was very rude to us without cause to be. 2. The second time we stayed here, we chose the pay at the property option, which is spelled out that you don't have to pay until you arrive to check in for your reservation, so you have the option of changing your payment method. I have never before had a problem using this reservation type. We arrived at the property for our reservation at around 9 pm to find that our reservation had been cancelled by the property 3 hours earlier because they attempted to collect payment for the reservation before I had arrived and there wasn't enough on the card on file to do so. They claimed that they tried to call me but I had no missed calls from them or anything. I have worked front desk for a hotel, so I know how some things work. There was absolutely no reason for my card to be run at 6pm. That is something you do if someone doesn't show for a reservation or you haven't heard from them by midnight. We were there by 9pm. We ended up having to pay almost an extra $25 to get another reservation. If we hadn't already paid for a second reservation on Saturday night, we would have went somewhere else. We will not be back.

Overall Nice

The service was great and the room was o.k. I saw a piece of candy on the floor by the chair and I found some else's hair on the bed. I assume it was there after being washed and was just stuck on from the dryer but it would have been nice if it had been removed while the bed was being made. Overall, clean and nice environment.

Exactly What I Needed

I flew in from New Jersey to Dallas, then drove straight to Tyler for the weekend. I arrived 4 hrs early, absolutely exhausted (4 hrs sleep in two days). The host was so sweet. She had mercy on my tired soul and told me the room was ready and that I could check in, so 3 could go get some sleep. The room was very clean. The bed was very comfortable and that's all I could ask for. I plan to make an annual trip to Tyler (to see relatives) and I will definitely choose LaQuinta each time.

I like that the property was remodeled and how modern the design was in which made it comfortable and homely. What I didn’t like about the room I was in is how the refrigerator frozen everything not in the freezer and even on the lowest temperature setting. I also didn’t like how I could hear the water running loud & clear when someone in the next room was in the shower. But besides the water noise from the neighbors shower time the property was quiet.
