Nestled on the serene shores of Lake Champlain, Isle View Cottages offer a picturesque getaway for those seeking relaxation and rejuvenation. Located in Alburgh, Vermont, just north of North Hero, our cottages face Isle LaMotte to the west, and provide the perfect blend of charm and modern comfort.

We have 8 cottages on site, so if you don’t see what you need, please ask. VRBO does not always show you everything that we have available. Whether you're planning a romantic escape for two, a family vacation, or a family reunion requiring multiple cottages, our accommodations provide what you need.

The Accommodations: This is one of a selection of cozy cottages, each thoughtfully designed to ensure your utmost comfort. This cottage has 2 bedrooms, one with a queen and the other with two twins. Wake up with fresh air and partial views of the lake and back field from your private deck, and unwind in the evenings watching spectacular sunsets and enjoying the clear horizon-to-horizon starlit sky.

The Amenities: Our cottages are equipped with all the amenities you need for a memorable stay. Enjoy kitchens that are well-stocked with cooking gear, where you can whip up delicious meals using fresh, local ingredients from nearby farms, or barbecue outdoors, then eat on the lake-facing deck while taking in the breathtaking views. The Location: Situated just steps away from the pristine shores of Lake Champlain, Isle View Cottages offer unparalleled access to outdoor adventures. This gorgeous 45-acre site was once a farm that rented summer cottages since the early 1950's. Over the decades, the cottages have been rebuilt and recently totally upgraded for today's guests. Many of our guests comment on how much they enjoy the peace and quiet they find here. We agree, and that's why we choose to live on the site during the rental season!

Spend your days swimming, fishing, or kayaking on the lake, or explore the nearby walking trails and scenic bike routes. For those seeking cultural experiences, Burlington and Montreal are each about an hour away, and each boasts quaint shops, art galleries, and local eateries waiting to be discovered.

For those interested in local natural history, Goodsell Ridge Fossil Preserve is located in nearby beautiful Isle La Motte, VT. This 85-acre preserve offers year-round free access to 480 million year old fossils from the Chazy Fossil Reef. Visitors can take a self guided tour of the fossils and continue to explore the beautiful former farm fields on longer trails traversing the property.

A nice quiet retreat situated about halfway between Burlington and Montreal, right on Lake Champlain. Plenty of room for the travel crate for our dog, with good wi-fi signal. We would definitely rate this as a top stay for us.

Comfortable cottage

We selected the cottage as a midway point between Montreal and Burlington and were able to do easy day trips to both. The cottage itself was super clean and the bed very comfortable. The deck provided a nice shaded area in the morning for relaxing. We enjoyed the peace and the comfort of the location!

We stayed here over the weekend of my Aunts 80th birthday. It was 5 minutes down the road from her home. Our particular cottage was small for 4 people, but very clean, comfortable and thoughtfully equipped with every thing but foods, beverages and personal items.

Perfect Getaway

The cottage was clean, comfortable and thoughtfully prepared. Plenty of kitchenware and appliances. I need my coffee, so the new coffee maker was great. We spent a lot of time down at the dock fishing, swimming, and kayaking.My wife, my 12 year old son, and I had a great time and we hope to visit again. If you go make sure to look at the night sky. I've never seen so many starts in my life.

Lake Champlain Bliss

As soon as we arrived on the property and got settled in it was great to sit outside on the little porch and enjoy the peace and quiet under the stars. We had never seen a night sky so clear! The cottage was very clean and had everything that we needed. We even got out on the tandem kayak the next day and paddled around the lake for a while.This was truly a much needed escape for us and we enjoyed every part of our stay and look forward to staying here again!

Delightful gem

David, our host, greeted us at check-in. Throughout our 4 day stay, David was very helpful and informative. We loved the great views, especially sitting in the front room. The cottage is located in a quiet lakeview setting. However, if you want access to cities, the cottage is also 1 hour from Burlington and 1 hour from Montreal (bring your passports!) The building is a newly-renovated comfortable, cozy year-round cottage. The kitchen is well-stocked with plates, silverware, pots and pans, cooking implements, etc. (better than our kitchen at home!) We also made use of the stacked washer/dryer. The beds were clean and comfortable. All of your linens are provided, including towels. We certainly would stay here again!

Truth in advertising

We had a wonderful stay with David. Despite my not reading the check in email throughly (mom-of-a-baby brain), David was very welcoming and even gave us a call to ensure that we would be able to unlock the door and get into our rental. The place was immaculate and I am very picky. We brought our dog with us, who is as hypoallergenic as a dog can be, but I was worried that staying at a dog friendly place would make me itchy. Not at all! The floors were so clean! The location is right on the lake and we liked swimming at the rental much better than the park down the road. Alburgh is kind of in the middle of nowhere and it’s more than a half hour drive to places with a lot going on like St. Albans City so plan to enjoy nature a lot. We did! I think the listing is very representative of reality and we really enjoyed ourselves.

Great to be back in VT

We loved our stay in Alburgh. It was great to come back to visit a new area in VT. We loved day trips to the state park down the street and to Burlington. It was nice to kayak right from the property. We have a fun time hunting for fossils on the beach and in Isle La Motte. This was a beautiful place to reacharge and reconnect as a family.
