Adorable Motel

My family (kids& dogs) stayed one night at this charming old world roadside motel. There is no desk staff on the property but the check in process was very easy, they sent a very informative text message prior to our stay. The rooms have been thoughtfully updated while maintaining that vintage charm. The location is a short drive to downtown Algoma. We went to breakfast at Caffé Tlazo, which I would highly recommend. I would be happy to stay here again.

We absolutely loved our stay at The River Hills Motel in Algoma. The room was spotless, and everything felt well cared for. Check-in and check-out were a breeze—super easy and hassle-free. The location is great if you want to be close to Door County without the crowds. One of the highlights was waking up in the morning and seeing hummingbirds fluttering around the hanging flowers outside—such a simple but beautiful touch that made the place feel extra special. It’s peaceful, charming, and clearly run with pride. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing and affordable place to stay.

Good place for short stay

Good location. Contactless check-in easy and smooth. Room clean and bed comfy. Housekeeper there everyday to tidy up and resupply. Nice to have Keurig and pods for morning coffee. Air conditioner small, away from main area, and worked so-so. Rather noisy, even late in evening...could hear guests next door walking in room and moving things, dog barking, door slamming, sidewalk wooden and so footsteps thudded. No ice in provided freezers.

! They provided everything you could want or need as a travelor. The beds were comfy! Towels were nice, bedding was good quality. Everything was clean! Kianna the made was lovely and gave great duggestions on where to eat. There was a cloth for make up removal and a utility cloth for fridge, micro, coffe maker area. Screen doors and flowers on the patio. A lovely stay, i would recommend to any traveler.

Algoma's little motel gem.

This was a money value stay. For the money it was a very nice stay. The check-in and check-out, though without human contact, was exceptionally easy. The room was small but well kept. Brought us back to the 60's for a motel stay with the bathroom decor. The bedding was very comfortable and entire facility well kept. Close location to downtown was also nice for morning walks and proximity to all that Algoma has to offer. Yet, it was outside town just a little bit and thus quiet.

Disappointing…

We don’t like the automated check-in system. At least once a day there should be a real person at the front desk. On the plus side, it was very quiet. No road noise. But, the beds were too firm and a little lumpy. The toilet backed up and the table where we ate breakfast was dark - needs a light.

This is an excellent motel for the price. We went there becuase it includes a twin bed. I have 3 teenagers so it was awesome they did not all have to cram into one bed!! We went on a road trip to Door County and this was the most afforadble motel we could find. We were 20 minutes from Sturgeon Bay and 40 minutes from other towns. It was well worth the money.

This was definitely an older motel property, but it was updated very nicely, and very clean. The room was small, but it had a queen bed and all the amenities we needed: refrig, microwave, coffee station, TV.

Very pleasant stay!

Altogether a very pleasant, easy and comfortable stay. Friendly staff. Great location and spotlessly clean. Excellent value. Basic but with a touch of class! Thoroughly recommend!

Clean, quiet, welcoming motel - stayed many times in past. Nice accommodations for fishing (able to use docks for fee - but nice to wake up and not trailer boat). One negative is not being able to check in until 3PM in afternoon?
