The location of this hotel is fantastic. Quick access to metro and buses and plenty of food options within a couple minute walk. That said, it is a very busy/active area, if you are looking for quiet area this is not the place. We had a wonderful visit. Checkin was great. Staff helpful with suggestions on places to see. Checkout super fast. The rooms are a little tired. Some of the tile and details need a little tlc. Appreciate the in room ac it helped sleep cooler at night. Overall would stay again

Excellent location but very old place

Elevator is only for 2 at a time, very old and slow. Maid service is very good and relatively clean overall. I sent email asking for luggage storage. However, I didn’t get the response through email. But luckily I was able to check in early.

Located next to Rambla easy to walk places Hotel rooms are tiny and bathrooms not welcoming but clean The arrival because we had a car was terrible and the lady we talked to on phone was definitely not helpful and strange There is no parking if you want a hair dryer you have to go back to reception every time Just everything in that hotel was complicated We spent 3 nights and make me happier to go back home

I book 2 room and the condition of the room is not the same in the website photos. And the furniture and washroom is very old. The most unbelievable is a big cockroach in my room. And the they notify me that exterior wall renovation is on going . I cannot open the window and noisy during date time. Why they didn't mention before I booked the room?

This property is in a great location on the plaza Catalunya and La Rambla. There are renovations going on at the property, but that didn't affect us at all. The reception staff are super helpful, friendly and kind. They have great restaurant recommendations, too.

To stay or not to stay again?

Excellent location. Right in the heart of city Center. Room was a good size. Staff were very friendly and more than just helpful. Common area was large and used by some of the guests. The building is covered with mesh and scaffolding meaning that the balconies are not useable. Unfortunately that was one of the main reasons for booking this hotel.

The property is located in a very busy district with a lot of people walking around the area all day long! It is close to metro and aerobus station. Walkable access to shops and restaurants. The property is clean but old but no complaint for the price!

Perfect! The cleanliness and friendliness, despite being an old building was just awesome. I loved the authentic charm and the chill vibe along with the BEST location in Barcelona. Plus, I was steps away from the most delicious vegetarian restaurant… Teresa Carles. If you are looking for a modern and swanky hotel, look elsewhere. But if you want an efficient room that meets all basic needs in a superb location, stay at Hotel Monegal.
