Very poor customer service from staff

I needed to change my reservation about a month before my arrival. Hotels.com had to facilitate this, because I was unable to do it in the app. They assured me that I would only be charged for the updated reservation. Unfortunately, once I arrived, my stay was just a non-stop series of errors, resulting in a terrible experience and additional charges that were almost impossible to get fixed. I will make sure that everyone that I know in Chicago stops recommending this hotel.
