Nice property and conveniently located. Check in process was smooth and the person who checked in gave us some cookies which she had baked that afternoon (big thankyou!) and these tasted very nice. Room was slightly smaller for our liking but all amenities were there. It had a small pool and jacuzzi that we didn’t get a chance to use. Front desk was very helpful and suggested some nice restaurants to eat nearby and we picked one of their recommendations.

Newer renovations, OK for 1 night

Not a fan of carpet in rooms with humid/foggy weather - always feels damp. Soda machine not working - had to cross 101 to gas station. Bed a little hard for us - not their fault - linens nice and lots of pillows. Very noisy - from train and barking dogs across the street to kids and adults stomping around upstairs - thankfully we can sleep in late.

Not a good stay

The construction blocked entrance to the hotel and was very noisy. We were on the third floor and when checking in there was no mention of the elevator being out of order. The hotel overall is outdated and dirty. The room was noisy and not very comfortable. I will not be returning.

We picked that hotel because they had laundry services and then when we got there, we were told the dryer didn’t work and it’s been out of order for a very long time. We asked for additional body wash and we didn’t get it. I asked for shampoo I didn’t get it. Nobody came to the room. Nobody called me back.

Friendly staff and welcoming but the hotel itself needs some love. The beds were very uncomfortable and there are no usb/plug in options if that is what you need. The elevator was broken during our stay. Convenient location to train ride that is in walking distance was main reason for our stay.

I had a wonderful stay at the Hotel Garibaldi! They are pet friendly which was very important for me this trip. But although they were pet friendly, there wasn’t much grass or dirt areas (besides surround private properties) for my pet to use the bathroom. I did find the room to be very spacious for the price we paid. Our room was a double queen and we still had room to set up our XL grate kennel. With the two beds and the addition of the kennel, the room was full, but I never felt cramped. The beds were very comfortable and there was no outside noise heard from within our room. We were on the second floor and for that floor at least (I cannot attest to the first and third floors), the vending machine for drinks was out of order and the machine for snacks was almost completely empty. There were signs to guide you to the ice machine but we still weren’t able to locate it very easily. The only elevator for the building was out of service which left us having to make multiple trips up and down the stairs to unpack and repack our belongings, as well as our dog’s belongings. Trying to do all that with a dog was very difficult and not all that convenient. But overall we had a terrific stay at the Hotel Garibaldi, the staff were incredibly kind and everything in our room was very clean and tidy.

The hotel didn’t look like much from the outside but the room was clean and comfortable. The front desk lady was very nice and got us right in a room. This is a great option for a town without a lot of options.

Great but dated

Great location and lovely staff. Freshly baked cookies at check in was a great tough. Rooms were a little musty though and breakfast could be better. I would stay here again.

Decent Stay

Overall a good experience Pool/Hot tub If you're choosing this place for the pool know that it's cold. Our daughter could only handle 15 minutes or so at the time. The hot tub temp was nice but looked dingy. We couldn't tell if it was old or dirty so we opted out of using it. Room The room was decent but they need blackout curtains. So much light still gets in even with the blinds closed. The mattresses were cheap but fine with one person sleeping but not super supportive for 2 people. Breakfast had a nice variety. There are some decent restaurant choices too. Overall, it met our needs but with kids know you'll have to drive to Rockaway for parks and beach.

Major road construction right in front of hotel. First room we received was adjacent to the road...crazy noisy. Asked to be moved...got a room backof the property...much better. Room was very nice on 3rd floor..but elevator was broken...so carrying bags up two flights of stairs. Breakfast was mediocre at best. Coffee ok.

Super positive place to stay.

From the check in to check out 10+. We've never had such great customer service. Hotels.com over charged us. The evening Gal worked it for quite awhile + found the error + got us a $ 111 credit for over charge. Room gals did fabulous. Breakfast delicious. A definite place to stay. Book direct with hotel # . No messups . Elevator was down . They offered to pack bags upstairs if we needed.
