Love this hotel and have always had a great experience. Wow not this time. The girl who checked us in was rude everytime there was an encounter with her.
Paid for valet that comes with in and out service. When we called for our car she daid I am too busy you can walk and get your car and hung up. I called back, this time she gave me the garage to call. I did unfortunately, the individual didn't understand english and hung up on me. We had to pay for car service since we couldn't get our car.
No I did not pay for valet.
I have never been to a property in which they were still using cast iron to turn on the Heat. The room was cold all the time because when you turned on the heat, it was for everyone. When you turned it off, everyone's heat was off. I couldn't believe it! It was horrible. Also, you could not buy any food—no restaurant, nor snacks.

Windows let in a lot of street noise. Walls thin enough the baby in the next room over caused me anxiety and lack of sleep. 2 remaining days consisted of the next room’s baby crying during the night and early morning. I did not sleep good until I got back home which is a bummer because it should have been a relaxing experience.
Comfortable hotel in good location. Nice to have coffee and basic continental breakfast in morning, as well as wine and cheese in afternoon. Bathroom wallpaper was pretty dated, but bed and room were comfortable and good size for a city hotel. I would recommend as it was a good value.
Everything I had hoped for in a hotel. Historical, clean furnished nicely and we have a huge room. I highly recommend a stay here. We are off to explore the city.
Friendly staff. Nice downtown location. Evening reception and continental breakfast are a nice touch. Comfortable accommodations. Can't ask for anything more.
It's an older hotel- an historic landmark, actually- that has been upkept nicely and renovated. Location was good for SF and close to everything I needed on my stay. They go the extra mile with a breakfast in the am and wine/ cheese in the early evening. Room service was friendly and efficient. I would come back.
