Lovely clean well located hotel-couple of issues

Hotel well located and generally good - but our booking included breakfast …. For two people in a room for 3 - we were told we’d have to pay an additional $40 for our child to eat breakfast per day - they told me to contact booking agent who told us it was nothing to do with them … contact the hotel… so we didn’t get to eat family breakfast together and had to take it in turns as I refuse to pay $120 for a child’s breakfast for three days! Why would I book a room for 3 people but breakfast for 2 - I presumed child would be free when it said breakfast included for 2 - she would eat a bowl of cereal and some juice Also we ordered food in the bar - were asked to tip for service when ordering (despite no service yet being experienced) we said we would tip after our food … we were reminded 3 times to tip while waiting/eating our food - pretty annoying and rude Other than that the stay was lovely - pool heating could have done with being a few degrees warmer Lovely hotel but a couple of points outlined above scored it down

We had the worst night of sleeping EVER at a hotel. The only rooms available when we checked in were next to the elevators. The front desk staff said they turn the elevators off after a certain time at night. Nope! They ran all night long . The bed vibrated at least every minute or two from the elevator running up or down. Horrible night of sleeping. Which is sad, because we thought the hotel was rather nice.

The check in staff were a little curt and unfriendly, but every other staff member - the restaurant and cleaners - were so lovely! Travel connections are great. Tram car is on the road right by the side of the hotel, and bus stops are within a block. I cannot commend the cleaning staff enough. They clearly work hard and our room was immaculate, as was the rest of the hotel. Only letdown was that one of the washing machines was out of order which meant a lot of battling over the remaining one. We ate in the restaurant the first night and it was great, drinks are very pricey in comparison to everywhere else though.
